“Fuck, it was a damn set-up,” Tracker snarls and heads after her.

“Will you be okay, baby?” I ask Noelle, not wanting to leave her side, but I know my brothers need me right now.

Noelle nods and gives me a small reassuring smile. “Go.”

“I’ll be back soon as I can.” I press a kiss on her forehead and stand.

“I’ll watch her,” Horse says as Twister joins him.

“We’ve got it here,” Twister adds.

Nodding to them both, I rush after my brothers. Normally, the kids were all here, but today it was only a few of them.

When everything first happened, I’m thankful Bride came rushing to find us. She’d barged into church, eyes filled with panic and tears flowing down her face. She’d already told Horse and Twister, who weren’t in church with us, and they sent her to get us. I sent her to my room, not wanting her to hear or see anything else that would traumatize her.

Following after my brothers, we head out of the clubhouse, past the playground, and toward the tree line. Tracker’s at the front, right on Victoria’s tail. A mixture of screams come from up ahead, a woman’s and child’s.

What the fuck is going on?

Stoney and Tracker had mentioned something about Jamie and Victoria being targeted, but I didn’t think it would happen this quickly.

The closer I get, I spot Valentine shielding Jamie with her body. Lorena, the clubwhore Daisy introduced earlier, is standing over her with a gun. From the looks of it, Valentine is already bleeding. Still, she kept the other woman from getting to Jamie.

“Stupid, worthless cunt,” Lorena screeches and pulls the trigger again. Valentine’s body jerks, and she screams in pain. “I knew you weren’t going to do what Perrin wanted you to do. It’s why I told him to send—”

Victoria launches herself at the bitch holding the gun, taking her to the ground. Talk about stupid. She wasn’t paying attention to the fact she wasn’t alone. Straddling her, Tracker’s ol’ lady wails punch after punch on the woman while Tracker goes for his crying son.

“It’s okay, buddy,” Tracker says, smoothing the boy’s hair at the back of his head.

“Coyote, Aries, get Valentine inside. Get Ranger and Tinsley to see what they can do to help her. If not, we’ll have to get her to the hospital,” Stoney states.

“No hospital,” Valentine murmurs weakly. “Please, no . . . no hospital. He’ll . . . find me.”

“Who’ll find you?” I ask, stepping closer to her, but she passes out before being able to answer.

“Here,” Tracker says to Kevlar, handing him Jamie. “Take him inside. Hand him to Raven and don’t take your eyes off him.”

“Daddy,” Jamie cries, trying to hang on to his dad.

“Be right behind you, bud. I’ve got to get Mommy first,” Tracker says calmly to the little boy and presses a kiss on the top of his head.

“I’ve got him, VP,” Kevlar says as he pivots and starts toward the clubhouse.

Turning my attention back to the problem at hand, I watch as Tracker moves to his woman and pulls her off the now bloody woman. The bitch doesn’t budge, and the only sign of life is the barely-there rise of her chest.

Fuck. If she dies, that’ll be two dead clubwhores today.

“Someone get this bitch inside. I want to know what the hell she knows and what she’s doing here,” Tracker commands, holding his woman close.

“What she’s doing here is obvious,” Victoria snaps and jerks away from Tracker to meet his gaze. “She was going to take our son to that sick bastard who sent her.”

“How do you know that?” Stoney asks while Tracker narrows his gaze on his woman.

“You weren’t supposed to know,” Tracker finally says.

“And that’s where you’re wrong.” Victoria glares and takes a ragged breath. “Valentine . . . wait, no, her name’s actually Lily . . . she told me when I confronted her.”

“Confronted her?” Blaze furrows his brow.
