“The main office?” Despite his laissez-faire attitude, Logan was the most recent in a long line of elites. The Graves family had their fingers in more pies than anyone could count, but their main business was land development. It had left them with more than a few billions, and enemies.

Logan chuckled. “Oliver didn’t tell you? I haven’t worked there in almost a year. Personality clashes, you understand.”

“Then where are we going?”

He clicked his tongue. “You were just there the other day, don’t tell me you forgot already. I work atRequitednow.”

That was unexpected. I glanced back at the two of them over my shoulder. “You work at that bar?”

Rather than answering Logan leaned forward and dropped a business card onto the seat beside me. “Here. In case you forgot.”

Oliver said nothing, so I did as I was told. We made it a few minutes before Logan started speaking again.

“I wouldn’t call it a bar, per se,” he mused. “It’s more of a club.”

It was clear that he wanted me to engage. “A club?”

“It’s a place for our members to…indulge themselves in a comfortable environment. A place without judgment, where respect and anonymity are held to the highest regard.”

Indulge. Without judgment. “You mean it’s a sex club.” I saw Oliver shift in the mirror, rubbing his face with his hand.

Logan only laughed. “Something like that. You should come by sometime; I think you’d like it. I know Oliver had a good time when we went, didn’t you?”

Oliver coughed. “It was interesting.” This time when I glanced at him in the mirror, he met my eyes.

The rest of the drive was spent with Logan chattering about different things, including his club. Oliver only responded when necessary, and I tried to ignore him.

I finally pulled up in front of the building. “Here we are.”

“You two should come by,” Logan suggested. “I can introduce you to my Master.”

I didn’t like the sound of that. “Master?”

“The owner. He’s a good guy, I owe him a lot.” If I hadn’t known better I would have thought some soft emotion flitted across Logan’s face, but it was gone as soon as it came. “I can give you the V.I.P. treatment.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.”

With a final goodbye, Logan left and disappeared inside.

I waited a few seconds to recover. “Back to the office?”

Oliver nodded and I pulled away. “I’ve only been that one time, you know.”

“When you tried to bring that guy home with you?”

“It was just curiosity, and Logan invited me.”

“It sounds like there’s a lot to be curious about in there. You sure you don’t want to go back?” There was an edge to my voice I couldn’t manage to soften. While I was a little grateful that his first visit had led to whatever our current relationship was, I didn’t like being reminded that I was just satisfying his curiosity.

He went quiet in the backseat. Minutes passed and I began to worry that I had made him mad. I was just about to apologize when he spoke.

“I have you, don’t I? So, there’s no need.”

It was shameful how happy those words made me. “Yeah, you have me.”

We drove in silence on the way back to the office, but I didn’t mind. It was too soon for me to give up, after all. There was a chance, no matter how small, that I could get him to fall for me, and I was going to take it.
