Chapter Sixty-Eight

Bode

Ifinish unpackingthe entire living room in the afternoon and rearrange the furniture a bit. I’m not sure if she’ll like it, but I can always move it back.

She look stunned when she walks in that evening.

“How did you do all this in one day?” she asks, looking around.

I laugh. “Just an afternoon. I told you I’m good. Is it okay? I can change it if you don’t like it.”

She studies it for a moment and says, “It’s perfect.”

Her eyes flash over to mine. “Honestly, you could do interior design.”

“I’ll think about that if I’m looking for a career change. Honestly, I considered becoming an architect before I went into tech.”

She considers this for a moment. “I’m sure you’d be great at that too.”

“What do we have to eat today?”

“Tacos.” She motions for me to follow her into the kitchen.

“Tacos! Perfect. What do you need done tomorrow?”

She sighs. “You don’t have to keep doing this, Bode.”

“But I want to, and I have so many more things I want to tell you,” I smile at her.

She hands me a plate of tacos and motions for me to sit with her. “Like what?”

“The kiss we had.”

She smirks. “Which one?”

“The first one.”

She sets her plate down and sits across from me.
