Juno
We walk into the housein silence and then she says, “How bad is that going to be for you?”
I laugh. “I don’t give a fuck.”
She smiles. “I think he’ll come around. He definitely seems more angry at you than me.”
“Yes. He is. He’s really angry with me.”
She looks worried.
I continue. “I love your brother. I love your whole family, but I love you more. If I have to choose between him and you, I choose you every time.”
She blinks a few times. “You love me?”
I cup her face in my hands again and say, “Have you been a part of any of these conversations we’ve been having? Yes, I love you. I love you more than anything.”
She just looks at me blankly – like she didn’t understand anything I just said.
“Juno, you are the love of my life. There will never be anyone who compares to you. You are everything – my everything.”
She pulls away and steps back, still looking confused.
“When did you know? You couldn’t have felt this way since our first kiss,” she asks.
“No. I shut down most of my feelings for you after our first kiss since you were off limits.”
“So when did you know?” she asks.
“I knew during that week in Italy that I loved you,” I say.
“Why not tell me?”
I laugh. “I wasn’t lying when I said before I thought I’d hold you back. I wanted you to be young and do dumb things and take risks and be with different people. I should have let you make that decision yourself. I’ll be honest – I did not think it would go over well with your family if we started dating after spending that week together Italy, but...”
“But what?” she says softly.
