She points at me and says, “You think about me, don’t you?”
I dart my eyes away. She’s caught me staring. I can still see her out of the corner of my eye. She gives me a little smirk and then reaches her hand to the back of her neck and unties her swimsuit. She lets her straps drop but holds her bikini in place over her breasts – barely.
“Juno...”
“What? Aren’t you curious? Don’t you want to see?”
Of course, I want to see. “Any of your brothers could swim in and...”
She stops. “Bo, tell me something and I want the honest truth. If it was just the two of us, would you tell me to stop? If I didn’t have any brothers, what would you do?”
I don’t respond.
“Tell me to stop, and I will.” Her eyes are flashing right now.
I should say something, but I don’t.
“I thought so.” She drops her top. I shouldn’t look. I really shouldn’t, but I do anyway. I’m all the way across the cave, thank goodness. There’s a big smile on her face, and I’ve forgotten how to breathe again. That seems to be happening a lot on this trip.
“Will this keep you busy at night? Give you something to get off to?” she says.
It will. It absolutely will, but we are not really alone, and I’ve already promised myself not to go there with her.
I snap out of it. “Juno, please, put your top back on. I don’t feel like being murdered today.”
She dives into the water and swims toward me. She pops up right in front of me, bikini top in hand.
“I seem to have lost my top. Will you help me get it back on?” she asks.
I growl at her. Her eyes just sparkle.
“You’re trouble,” I say.
“I never claimed otherwise.” She gets her top in place and then turns around. I balance on a rock and tie the back and then the neck.
She turns back around and says, “Thanks for the hand.”
I watch her swim toward the opening of the cave and then she turns back and says, “If you ever decide to stop being such a bore, I’ll be happy to make your life more adventurous.”
She blows me a kiss and then swims out of the cave.
I drag my hands over my face. “Fuck me.”
