Page 66 of Possessing Eden

Eden sighs. “Yes, yes, you got him to take the medicine. Thank you for the help and bringing your friend in to help. Now leave.”

Chuckling quietly and making faces at the smiling Abel, I say, “Not a chance, dear. I let you go last night. You came back to me. You’re mine now.”

“I didn’t come back to you on my own free will,” Eden hisses. “I didn’t want to be hunted down and murdered.”

Looking at her, I can see that she’s being honest, but there’s something else there. Something she’s hiding from me and herself, if I’m not mistaken.

She feels the pull that I feel, she knows it’s there. When she was sitting that juicy little ass on my cock, she felt what her body did to me.

She squirmed on my cock, and as much as she lies to herself, she liked it.

“Say what you like, Eden,” I say, slowly moving to stand directly in front of her. “Deny whatever you want. Fight it all you want, I’ll enjoy that, I think. But know that you’re mine now and I’m yours.”

Towering over her, I realize just how small and fragile she is.

Like one of those little porcelain figurines that seem quite hard on the outside but shatter if you drop them.

Her big blue eyes stare up at me.

God, how the fire in her eyes sends every single blood vessel in my body directly to my cock.

“You’re a fucking bastard, get out!” she snaps.

“No,” I say firmly. “We’ll both be leaving this place soon enough. But my house won’t be ready until tomorrow, at the earliest.”

“I’d rather choke to death on my own spit than leave here with you. You’re a monster, I saw what you did to Rodney.”

Peering directly into her eyes, I see her fears. I see her for the delicate, fierce soul she is.

My words come out quietly, “I won’t deny that, but that was business. He needed to understand what happens to those who steal from our family. He needed to know he cannot take money from my boss, and by extension,me. Stealing from me is stealing from you and Abel. I will never allow someone to take from my family. I will not allow another person to take from your mouths.”

I’ll never allow someone to put my family’s well-being on the line like that. I will be the provider. I will give them food and shelter.

“We’re not yours!” Backing away from me, she marches over to the couch and slumps into it with Abel pressed against her chest.

I hate those fucking words, but I’ll ignore it for now. I don’t want to upset my child any more than he already is with his fever and poor little ear infection.

“Jude, I’m exhausted. Can you just go so I can get Abel to bed?”

“No.” My phone begins to ring in my pocket. “I’m taking care of you from now on, Eden.”

Pulling the phone out, I push the connect button without looking.

“Why the fuck was your car creeping around Princeton Park last night, asshole? I told you what those homes were,” James snarls angrily. “And why the fuck is your car there right now?”

Well damn, I thought it was Simon calling.

Raising a finger to Eden, I move to the dining room. “I suppose you have cameras in the community?”

“Jude, if you so much as step one fucking toe out of line and cause a single fucking issue, I’ll take the new toy Simon bought me for Christmas and make your body a bloody mist. There won’t be a piece of you left to fix,” James spits out, and I can feel his rage through the phone.

“Understood, and that was the furthest thing from my mind,” I say, looking back to Eden. “I’m simply waiting here for the night with my family. Our home should be ready tomorrow.”

“You mean sitting in my house when I keep telling you to get the fuck out!” Eden all but yells from the couch.

I hear James about to say something before he goes silent.

“We’ll be out of here as soon as possible,” I say quickly. “And I’ll personally donate two hundred thousand for this community in return for your patience.”
