A loud sigh comes through my speakers and I hear a furious amount of typing. “You’re approximately five minutes from state route fifty-eight. Go west, you’ll take the second exit. Turn left after the exit. There are no long curves, it will be a straight ramp off and a ninety degree turn left.”

“Got it,” I say and look behind me. The BMW has significant damage to the front of the car. I’m betting that’s why they’ve stopped ramming me. “Can you keep the police out of this?”

“I can try, but it’s doubtful. They don’t like gunfire on the highways,” Simon says.

Whipping in and out of lanes, I keep looking back to make sure there aren’t more cars beyond the one following me.

“Can you create conflicting reports once I get off this highway?” I ask.

“Already on it,” Simon says. “I’ll be creating a few frantic calls stating you went in different directions. The power of these latest AI’s is simply amazing. How many cars do you have tailing you?”

“Just a silver BMW at the moment,” I answer. “No frontal license plate and the windows are all blacked out. It’s a newer model, though.”

“That won’t mean much,” Simon mutters.

Going quiet, I carefully move around slower cars. I don’t want to lose these miscreants behind me, but I can’t afford for them to force a confrontation in such a public area.

As always, my work is best done without a bunch of prying eyes.

I feel almost foolish with how much effort I have to put into letting the chasing car keep up with me.

Cutting across two lanes of moving vehicles, my tires screech the whole way when I hop onto the on-ramp for state route fifty-eight.

My fingers begin to flex hard on the steering wheel.

I have to force the voices in my head to quiet down in times like this. It’s in the here and now that my body is the most active.

The threat of violence and death always excites me to no end. Sex and death are so viciously delicious in their similarities to me.

First my cock throbbed for Eden, now it aches for the fun of testing Fate’s tightrope. Will I fall off to my death this day?

I surely hope not. Not with Eden and Abel in my life now.

But in the past? I didn’t care one way or the other. To me it was simply discovering the next puzzle in this universe of ours.

Excitement builds in my muscles and tendons, regardless of my brain telling them to relax.

You can’t retrain some animals. Once wild always wild, regardless of the collar that’s been slapped around their neck.

The morons in the car behind me aren’t the worst pursuers I’ve ever had to deal with, that would be the Jordanian mercenaries eight years ago, but these simpletons are close.

I’m almost tempted to use my blinkers to give them a heads up of where they need to turn.

“They’re not exactly professionals,” I grunt out as I twist my steering wheel nearly fully around, my Audi nimbly drifting into a left-handed ninety degree turn. “A real team would have had more cars and better drivers.”

“They’re still shooting at you, Jude,” Simon grumbles at me. “Whether the drivers are up to par or not, they’re creating a scene we need to be quickly clear of.”

“Oh, don’t you worry your poor soul over that, my good man,” I say with a smirk on my lips. “This will all be over soon enough.”

Taking in all the dilapidated industrial buildings surrounding the streets, I’m grateful Simon was able to find an appropriate area for me to play in.

“Where are the police at?” I ask.

“Chasing their tails east of you. The lack of shooting helped when you got onto fifty-eight,” he says.

I check my side mirror. “Good.”

The BMW is finally closing back in on me. They must have had a rough time with the left-hand turn.
