“I’m fat and tired and I miss drinking coffee and wine.”

“You’re gorgeous and perfect and wine gives you hangovers. Totally overrated.”

“Says the guy who can have some.”

“So I’ve been thinking.” I rub my palm over her belly. “I’m going to put off opening the next location.”

She sits up. “But why? You’ve been so excited about it.”

“Not really. I haven’t found the perfect spot for it yet…”

“I thought you were going to put it in that strip mall?”

“That was the plan, but it didn’t seem to fit. A Chick-Fil-A was going in the same area and we would have been sandwiched between a hair salon and a UPS store. The location didn’t fit our branding.”

Andie nods. “But that doesn’t mean you have to scrap it altogether, does it?”

I lean down and kiss our growing mango. “I’m happy with what we have, Andie. If I expand too fast, I could lose it all. I’m okay with waiting a year or two. I need to make sure my family is secure before I throw more fuel on the fire.”

“I’m sorry, Cam.” A tear rolls down her cheek.

“Babe, why are you crying?”

“You could open a third if I wasn’t pregnant.”

“Andie, stop.” I hang my head as I gather my thoughts. She runs her fingers through my hair. I look up into her sad eyes. “I need you, Enzo, Charleigh, and little one more than another location, more than the success, more than anything. You three are what matter most to me.”

She leans forward and touches her lips to mine. “I love you, Cameron Forbes,” she whispers.

“I love you more,” I whisper back.

“TJ wants to throw a baby reveal shower for us.”

I groan and lie back. “We were having such a peaceful, loving moment.”

She giggles. “I know. He wants to do pink and blue glitter bombs for the reveal.”

“Yeah, and he probably wants to have the party at The Social Hour so he can grind glitter into everything. Hell no. Do you know how long it took me to get the glitter out of everything after Tatum’s birthday party a few years ago? I was still finding glitter in my hair after a week of showers. No way.”

“Well, I didn’t say he could. I told him I wanted to ask you first if you wanted to find out what the sex is, or if you want to be surprised?”

“Surprised,” I blurt.

“Wow, no hesitation there. Is that because TJ wants to throw us a party?”

“Yup.” I grin and turn my head to look at her. I link my fingers with hers and gently squeeze. “Let’s be surprised. Not because of TJ, although that is a big factor, but because the anticipation of finding out if it’s a boy or girl will be fun.”

“I like that.” She smiles and nods. “There’s something different about you, Cam. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but you’ve changed. Remember when you used to be terrified of kids?”

“I was never terrified of kids.”

“Okay, maybe terrified isn’t the right word, but they definitely weren’t your favorite. You were always so worried Sarah or Kiki’s kids would wipe something on your Hermès tie. You used to talk to Enzo like you were trying to impress one of your business partners.”

“I did not,” I scoff.

“Remember when I walked in on you the second time we met and you were taking care of Sarah and Kiki’s kids all by yourself? Hair mussed, baby food all over your face and shirt… You’ve come a long way, handsome.” She threads her fingers through my hair and kisses my lips. I look into her eyes and think about what an asshat I used to be before I met Andie.

“I love kids. Especially ours. My nephew can be a little challenging at times.”
