“Different?” offered Luca. He waved one hand around. “Like all the work you and the others already put into this place?”

My mind was racing to keep up with the pounding in my heart. Yes, I’d helped out with these things. We’d all helped. That’s what friends did, didn’t they?

And we were alotmore than friends.

“Think about all the money Aegean’s saving by not paying rent,” Tyler went on. “A busy, thriving business that’s already in the black… and one that doesn’t even have a monthly mortgage payment.”

“Still…”

“Now think of all theothermoney we’ll be collecting from the surrounding tenants,” Luca pointed out. His mouth twisted into a smile. “Affording your school isn’t the problem, here. It’s an investment inourfuture. All four of us.”

One by one, the protests on the tip of my tongue seemed to drop away. What they were saying made perfect sense. I could actually go back. I could finish what I’d started…

“Now… as far as keeping you from getting distracted?” Tyler went on. “Well, that’s another story entirely.”

“He’s right,” Luca quipped. “You’ll need to really focus. You’ll need to study.”

“I can focus,” I answered smartly. “I can study.”

“He’s talking about with a clear head,” Jay piled on. “It’ll be rough with three boyfriends. Just think of all that… distraction.”

He flexed as he raised his wine glass to his lips, turning his bicep into a tight, magnificent ball of panty-dropping beautiful muscle. He drank slowly, too. Sensuously. As if to prove his point.

“Maybe we should implement a no-sex rule,” Tyler offered. “You know, so we keep our hands off you. Maybe during finals week, and other important parts of the semester where—”

“Bullshit!”

I downed a large gulp of the wine myself before scanning them one by one. “If you boys think I can’t go to schoolandkeep the three of you sexually satisfied, you’re out of your fucking minds.”

They pretended to look at each other before Tyler shrugged mischievously.

“Well, if you really think so—”

“Oh, Iknowso.”

I turned, and the kitchen window floated into view. It was snowing outside — just enough to be annoying. Just enough to remind me of our time on the mountain, in that cozy little cabin. The place where I’d happily left every last remaining shred of my sexual innocence.

“In fact…” I said sardonically, “I think we should practice.”

“Practice?”

“Yeah sure,” I went on. “We could actually ramp things up, if I’m being honest. Get me to the point where I’m so oversexed I can’t think of anything other than schoolwork.”

“So… even more sex,” Luca theorized. “Tohelpyou focus.”

“Damn straight.”

“We could screw you smart,” said Tyler. “Something like that.”

“Exactly,” I laughed.

Luca sighed and shook his head. “I dunno. This sounds like an awful lot of screwing.”

“What’s the matter?” I challenged him. “You’re not up for it?”

“No one’s sayingthat,” he replied quickly. “I’m just trying to look out for you.”

I squinted at him hard, trying to figure out his angle. His smirk was so sarcastic, so subtle, it was almost invisible.
