I huffed, wanting to wave him away, but he certainly did have a point. The guys had ravaged me again and again, over and over, well into the night. I’d passed out more than once, only to be awoken again by Luca, then Tyler, then Jay. Each of them had proceeded to take me one-on-one, screwing me slowly and tenderly in the darkness. Somehow we managed to do it on one side of the room or the other, as the others slumbered.

By the time dawn broke, I was swollen and satiated beyond my wildest dreams. Almost to the point of being numb.

“Alright fine,” I conceded sheepishly. “Touché.”

I’d waited three days to seek out Tyler for the same reason he had; I hadn’t wanted to give him the wrong impression. What we did was fun, but it was of course a one-time thing. A means to an end, for all three of us.

But it also felt wrong not acknowledging the other night at all. Especially considering how amazing the whole experience had been.

“Next time I’ll send over a case of beer, or a Man Crate or something,” I joked.

Tyler’s left eyebrow arched a full inch upward. “Next time?”

I chuckled and shook my head. “Yeah, you boys wish.”

Two slices arrived unbidden, brought over by the shaggy-haired boy who was working the ovens. I squinted at him curiously.

“Christopher?”

The kid threw his hair back and smirked. The gap-toothed grin I remembered so well was gone, but his smile was still the same. “Hi, Jenna.”

The last time I’d seen Tyler’s nephew, he’d been in elementary school. Maybe fourth or fifth grade. He was the son of Tyler’s only foster sister, Nicole.

“Oh my God, howoldare you now?”

“Fifteen.”

“You’re kidding!”

“Wouldn’t kid about that,” he winked. Another alarm went off, causing him to glance in the direction of the ovens. “Sorry, gotta run.”

I watched him go, as Tyler began shaking pepper flakes over both our slices. He dug in so hungrily, it was like he didn’t work at a pizzeria or something.

“How long has Christopher been—”

“Since I lost mom and dad,” Tyler admitted. “The kid’s been a godsend. Always around, always helping out.”

I finally took a bite of my own slice, and as always it was incredible. Every bit as good as the pizza I’d had in New York, which made sense because Tyler’s parents had come from there.

“So what about you?” my ex-boyfriend asked.

“Me?”

“Sure,” he shrugged. “You went to college, then you disappeared for a little while. What the hell have you been doing all this time?”

I paused mid-bite, wondering what to say. I decided to shrug and say nothing.

“Even more importantly, what brings you back?”

My smile faded a little. Despite my best effort, my stomach rolled sideways.

“Jenna?”

Slowly I set my slice of pizza back on its white paper plate. There was so much to say. But even more tonotsay, if that made any sense.

Just then a commotion came from the kitchen. A big hiss of steam and the buzz of another alarm brought Tyler’s full attention back in that direction.

“I gotta go.”
