Colt looked at his wife. “Youtoldher?”

“She’s a nurse,” Mia defended. “I wanted to make sure you’d done it right.”

“My daughter is asleep in your arms. I did it right,” Colt muttered.

“Hee-haw, both of you pound on your chests and then have a pissing contest,” I said.

“Not going to happen,” Zip said. “Besides, I’d win.”

“You wanna bet?” Colt asked.

Zip rose. “Let’s go, Prez.”

“You’re on.” Colt stood up. “Viper? You in?”

“You really expect me to whip my dick out and have a pissing contest when I’d rather take my woman back to my room and throw her legs over my shoulders?”

I hastily covered his mouth with my hand, even though it was clearly too late.

Mia and Joni cackled in amusement.

Viper’s warm tongue snaked out to graze my palm. I yanked my hand away.

“Behave,” I commanded.

“No,” he said easily.

“I think Viper’s got a better plan than a pissing contest.” Colt reached a hand down to help his wife out of the chair. “You ready to go, sweetheart?”

“Hell yeah.” Mia looked at me and winked. “Thanks, doll.”

I saluted.

“Why are you thanking her? I’m the one who gave your husband the idea,” Viper stated.

“Thanks, Viper,” she said. “You both have good ideas. Happy?”

Viper shrugged.

“Babe?” Zip asked.

“Yeah, let’s get out of here. If we’re lucky, Everett will sleep the entire car ride home.”

As the group began saying goodbye, other couples began to stand and do the same.

“Seems like you had a very good idea,” I said.

Viper’s hand inched up my jeans to massage my calf. “I have them on occasion.”

Rach stayed behind, talking to Smoke and Savage. She was the only woman to remain at the party, but I didn’t understand why.

“Who’s Rach’s man?” I asked Viper.

“Her man died,” Viper said. “Cartel war.”

“Oh.” My heart suddenly felt like lead. “She has a son.”

“Yeah.”
