“Had no idea liquor made you vulgar.”

“The trailer park made me vulgar. Now answer the question.”

“He’s here, isn’t he?” Viper stated. “He’s at the clubhouse party and she’s not here. So, what do you think?”

“I think that’s rotten.”

“He didn’t make her his Old Lady. She doesn’t have a claim on him.”

“So if she was his Old Lady, he wouldn’t fuck around on her?”

“Didn’t say that either.”

“Charming,” I muttered.

I liked Savage. The idea that he—or any of the bikers—fucked around on their women made me sad. Not surprised, but sad.

“Are all you guys cheaters?” I asked.

“Bold accusation there,” he said. “And Savage and Carla’s relationship is their business.”

“What about you?”

“What about me?”

“Do you fuck around on your girlfriends?”

“I don’t have any girlfriends.”

“Past girlfriends,” I clarified.

He took a drink of bourbon. “Not all men cheat.”

“You didn’t answer my question,” I snapped.

“Bourbon makes you mean.”

“Bourbon makes you not answer questions,” I replied.

“No. I don’t cheat. No. I don’t fuck around on girlfriends. No. I don’t lie to women, tell them what they want to hear, and dick them over.”

“Well, that’s nice, I guess,” I muttered.

“I also don’t have relationships,” he said. “I’m not cut out for them.”

“Because of conversations like these? Or because you don’t like commitment?”

Viper pushed away from the wall and came toward me. “Cup.”

“Huh?”

“Hold out your cup.”

I held up my red cup.

He poured a hefty shot into it. “Drink.”

“So you think I’m too young to date or have an orgy, but I’m not too young to drink straight bourbon.”
