“I think it’s been proven that I haven’t been able to keep my hands off you. It was a very immediate gratification moment. One I do not regret.”

“Good.”

“Don’t deviate. The knife, Viper.”

“I like your sass, Sutton. I like that you’re demanding and vocal in bed. But this inquisition shit has got to stop.”

“Demanding? Vocal? Say what now?” I asked, feeling my cheeks heat.

“You tell me what you want, and I like that. And you’re noisy. I like that very much.”

I buried my head in my hands. “Does that mean everyone can hear me?”

“God, I hope so.”

“What? Why would you want that?”

“So everyone knows,” he said quietly. “Knows that I’m pleasing you.”

“That sounds kind of egotistical.”

“Damn right it is.”

I wasn’t sure what to say about that and I didn’t want to continue down this line of conversation. “I think I’d like breakfast now,” I said, jumping off the table.

“Not so fast,” he said.

I turned to look at him over my shoulder.

His grin was slow.

“You’re serious?”

“Yup.”

“Now?”

“Yup.”

“Before I even get breakfast?”

He got up off the table and came close to me. “If you hadn’t kicked me out last night, I’d still be in your bed.”

“And that means…”

“It means I would’ve been sliding into you from behind, making you scream my name before you even had your first cup of coffee.”

I swallowed, my throat suddenly dry.

He gently grabbed a fistful of my hair and wound it around his knuckles and then tugged me toward him. “Doesn’t that sound better than bacon and eggs?”

“I don’t eat eggs anymore,” I said, my mood suddenly souring. “Not after…”

“Fuck. Right.”

I didn’t want that reminder to interfere or take up space in my brain, so I forced a smile. “But pancakes… I could delay my desire for pancakes, but I’m going to need you to make it worth it.”
