“No, nothing. I was wondering if you could do something for me?”

She glances at the others, then back to me. “Is this an off-the-books type of thing?”

“You tell me? I want you to find someone to look into Kyle, see what he’s into. I want to know what we’re up against.”

Cleo chuckles, waggling her brows. “Blake, you old dog, playing dirty tricks. I like this side of you. Leave it with me. I’ll see what I can find out.”

“Thanks, Cleo… but keep this between us, yeah?”

She snorts out a laugh. “Oh, I’m not telling anyone aboutthisconversation. Client confidentiality, remember?”

“You know I love you, right?”

She nudges my shoulder playfully. “You have to say that, or I’ll charge you my usual fee instead of friends rates.”

“Yeah, exactly! Let’s celebrate me being completely off the market at Revel Rose.”

Cleo chuckles. “Another one bites the dust.”

I laugh, looking ahead at my wife, and shake my head.“I’d be swept up in Zoey’s dust storm for the rest of my life if it made me feel just an ounce of how good I feel right now.”

Cleo smiles, slapping my shoulder. “Happy for you, Blake.”

Me too.

Me fucking too.

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Zoey

Tonight has been the best time of my life.

Not only did I get to marry Blake, but the party at Revel Rose has been so much fun.

Our parents have been great, and not only met each other for the first time, but we got to spend time as a family. I was able to hang out with his sister and brother, and I now realize that Blake used to do a lot of babysitting because Paige is twelve years younger than him, so it’s no wonder he is so good with Hailee.

Nash and Brianna have offered to babysit Hailee for us at our place, which is a godsend, so Blake and I can grab a hotel for the night.

It’s getting late, and the party is finally winding down.

Hailee is super tired. She expelled a lot of energy today in all her excitement and is going to crash big time. So I pull her to me and kiss her on the forehead. “You be good for Nash and Bri, okay?”

She nods up at me, letting out a big yawn. “Mommy?”

“Yeah, baby?”

She wraps her arms around my legs. “I’m so glad you and Blake are happy.”

Blake wraps his arm around my shoulders and presses his lips to my hair. “We’re going to be happy always, Starshine,” he tells her.

She nods, racing forward and hugging him. “Today has been the best day. So much better than Dad and Tamara’s wedding.”

My eyes widen as I look at Blake with a smirk. “Okay, time for you to head home with Nash and Bri. Love you.”

“Love you, Mommy. Have a good night, Blake,” she calls out, and we both wave to her as I mouth ‘thank you’ to Bri and Nash.

They smile before walking with Hailee out of Revel Rose.
