Hailee slides in beside Blake on the other side and grins up at us. “You still struggling, Blake?” she asks as she skates backward, facing him.

He widens his eyes, staring at her. “How are you even doing that?”

She giggles. “It’s easy, but here, let me help you,” she states, grabbing Blake’s other hand and holds onto him for extra support.

He exhales, now a little more stable as he has me on one side and Hailee on the other. “How incompetent am I that I need the both of you to help me roller skate?”

Hailee grins. “I don’t mind. I’m just glad you’re here.”

Blake smiles at her. “I’m glad I’m here, too, Starshine.”

We go to round the corner, and he tenses as we try to turn. Blake begins to wobble again, and the three of us have to slow down to help aid him in his turn. Blake groans, righting himself.

Hailee giggles as she stares up at him. “You reallyareno good at this, are you?”

Blake sighs. “Hailee, I’m stopping you from your fun. You go off and skate. This isyourday. Leave me with your mom. We’ll be okay.”

Hailee glances from Blake to me, and I nod. “It’s okay, you go and have fun. I’ll take care of this guy.”

“Okay, thanks, Blake.” Hailee chimes and takes off faster than even I thought possible. She is getting so good on these things.

I turn to Blake.

He chuckles. “How can I possibly be so bad at this shit?”

I grin, holding onto him tighter. “You’re not bad, just new. Plus, I kinda like seeing you vulnerable for once.”

He glances up at me, smirking. “I liked seeing you vulnerable last night in bed.”

My cheeks heat instantly. “You were meant to be asleep on the sofa.”

“You were noisy. I was worried about you.” His grin is extra mischievous letting me know he’s lying.

“Mm-hmm… well, let’s pretend you didn’t see anything.”

He leans closer so only I can hear, his breath tickling the skin behind my ear. “At least tell me this… were you thinking about me while that pink cock was inside you?”

I swallow hard. This man is trying to get a rise out of me, so I can play that game too. I turn to look at him directly in his eyes. “All I could think about was you while I was fucking myself, beforeandafter you left my room.”

His eyes widen like he had no idea I went back for more after he left last night. A salacious grin floods his face as he groans. He tries to turn to face me, but his feet dart out from underneath him, going in all different directions. His hands flail in the air, letting me go as he jerks back, his feet sliding out from under him, and he lands flat on his ass.

I burst out laughing so hard my sides hurt as he admits defeat, flopping back on the rink. “Fucking hell!” He groans out in pain.

I double over, holding my stomach, I’m laughing so hard, but Blake reaches out, grabs my hands, and before I have a second to think, he yanks me. My feet slip out, and I fall straight into Blake. He catches me, pulling me into his lap.

He’s laughing now, too, as the two of us roll around on the rink floor, kids and parents skating around us, chuckling at these two adults being idiots on the floor. We finally stop rolling and sit, me in Blake’s lap as he holds me to him. His hand swipes some hair from my face as we try to contain our laughter.

Suddenly, we glance up to see Hailee slide in beside us, her face smiling wide as she looks down at us. “You guys are so silly,” she states, so I do the only thing I can think of and reach out, grab her arm, and yank her down into the pile with us.

Hailee squeals as Blake wraps his arms around us, and we laugh while sitting on the rink floor.

“I think this is the best place in the whole rink,” Blake states, and Hailee snorts out a laugh.

“You know, I’ve never sat in the middle of the rink before, but it’s kinda fun.”

I glance around at all the other parents who are watching us with bright smiles, and I can’t help but wonder if they think Blake is Hailee’s father and we’re one big happy family, here being silly together.

Would it be so bad?
