My fingers play with the hair at the base of his neck, loving that we’re taking this next step. “We’re really doing this?” I ask.

“We’re really doing this,” he replies.

I lean in, pressing my lips to his again, and that spark, that amazing tingle, flows through me, and it’s then I realize I’ve never told Blake that I love him back. Pulling away, I look into his eyes and say, “I love you, Blake.”

He smiles so wide like he has been dying to hear me say the words, and he thrusts himself forward, kissing me again, so full of desperation and need. “I fucking love you, Zoey,” he mutters against my lips as they continue to kiss him, as a knock sounds on the door.

“This is still a place of work. So remember that in there,” Nash calls from the other side of the door, making us part through our chuckles.

Blake shakes his head. “Fucking cockblock.” As he tries to subtly place my panties in his pocket.

Bringing my hand up, I caress the side of Blake’s slightly bearded face. “Stay at my place tonight. We’ll have to talk to Hailee and be quiet because of Hailee, but we’ve got to celebrate.”

His bright amber eyes sparkle. “Tonight it is.”

A steady knock on the door has us chuckling again as Blake steps back from me. “C’mon, let’s get back to work.”

I hop from the desk and shake my head. “Like I am going to be able to concentrate at all today, and don’t think I didn’t see you stuff my panties in your pocket.”

He smirks, winking at me. “Think about what you want to do for the wedding. No expense spared. Whatever you want is yours, Cupcake.”

My eyes widen as I think this through. When I watched Tamara and Kyle’s wedding, I was envious. I always wanted a wedding like that. The extravagance, the gorgeous decorations, but now I’m faced with it, I am not so sure I want all that fuss.

It’s something for me to think about anyway.

“I need you to know… I’m not marrying you for your money. You know that, right?”

He pulls me to him. “Honestly, Zoey, I know, but I am happy to share it with you. I need you to have every chance at winning this bullshit with Kyle, and if my money can help with that, then I am more than willing to give it all to you.”

“Blake… what would I do without you?”

He grins mischievously. “Well, you’d certainly be unsatisfied sexually.”

Rolling my eyes, I move to walk past him for the door, but he grabs my wrist and pulls me back to him, pressing his lips to mine hard one last time. I sink into him, kissing him back before he softly lets me go. “Love you.”

Smiling, I blink up at him. “Love you too.”

He tilts his head toward the door. “Let’s go to work before Nash has a coronary.”

Giggling, I turn and start walking, and as I pass him, he gives me a light tap on my ass.

We step out of the meeting room—Nash’s eyes are firmly on us as we go.

Crap!I scurry for my desk as Blake strolls over to his office. The man is never in a hurry to go anywhere, and that’s when it hits me.

I’m engaged.

To Blake-fucking-Branson.

Holy hell.

CHAPTER TWENTY

Blake

After work, I went home and packed a few things.

I plan on staying at Zoey’s for a little while until we can figure out the living situation, but if she is open to it, I am happy to move in with them. I don’t want to uproot Hailee if we don’t have to.
