“Can you just let the dress out?”

Every pair of female eyes turn to me in horror. Crap. Clearly, I’ve said something wrong. “You don’t alter a designer dress,” Sara scolds. “You alter yourself.”

At that, Jax rolls his eyes. “Babe, you’re fucking perfect the way you are. You don’t need to lose weight.”

“Jax,” Cassie says, holding her hand up to stop him. “We are not getting into this again.”

He lets out a groan and gets back to setting the table only to have Brianna shove him out of the way and start again, but I must admit, she does a much better job.

Elle instantly jumps in and helps with whatever she can and watching her fall in so easily with my family does something to me that I can’t quite explain, or in fact, can’t quite understand.

Twenty minutes later, we’re sitting around their massive table with the conversation flowing and as expected, they have all drilled Elle on our relationship, given me shit about bringing a girl around for the first time and asked how my broken dick is going and even though Elle is particularly shy when actually discussing her feelings, she has no reservations about standing up for herself or other people when she boldly lets the table know that my dick certainly is not broken.

We’re having an amazing time when Sara and Sean finally get to the reason we’re all here. Sean proudly stands at the head of the table and looks to his wife with love in his eyes, a look that has caused him a lot of shit over the years but now I feel like I’m starting to understand it.

“So, you all know I’m not one for speeches so let’s make this short and sweet,” he starts. “As you know, Sara and I have been together for a while…”

“Holy crap,” Cassie yells out as she looks to Sara with so much joy in her eyes, she might burst. “You’re pregnant?”

What? Pregnant? I turn to Sara along with everyone else in the room.

Sara looks up at Sean with a grin before turning back to the rest of us. “Yes, I’m pregnant. You’ll all have a little niece or nephew in seven months.”

With that, the whole room turns into chaos. We jump out of our chairs and crowd Sara and Sean with our hugs and congratulations.

It takes at least ten minutes for everyone to settle down and get back to the table to finish our lunch and even then, I can still hardly believe it. These two are going to make fantastic parents and I couldn't be happier for them. The only thing missing at this moment is mum and dad but I know they are looking down on us and are as full of joy as the rest of us.

Under the table, Elle reaches across and takes my hand in hers. I look over to her and see a beautiful smile looking back at me.

Yeah. Just perfect.

Chapter 14

Elle

It’s way past dinner time when Logan and I get back to my tiny, little shit hole apartment. I mean, I used to love this place but after seeing the absolute luxury Logan has been living in, I realise I have a long way to go before making it big time. But I’m going to show management that I deserve the senior position next season and that is going to get me one step closer to where I want to be in life.

I can just see it now. I’ll be able to buy myself a proper house, it will probably still be small but it will be decent. Brendan will be walking and I’ll even let him move in with me but seriously, it’s not like I’m going to allow him to go anywhere else, no matter how much he complains about it. He’s stuck to me like glue for the rest of his life.

Hmmm… I’ll have to figure out a way to get Jaz to stay close to me too but I’m sure it will all work out.

I collapse onto my lounge and dump my bag as Logan immediately goes for my foul-mouthed bird. He goes about getting Louie out of his cage but I completely zone out.

I'm freaking exhausted, it has been a crazy busy weekend, filled with all sorts of emotions, some high and a few very low but mostly, I've just been enjoying myself being in Logan's company. I've never felt that way with a man before, usually, I can't wait to get away but with Logan, I need to be close.

I still can't believe I told him that would try. I completely meant it because let's face it. I can't stay away, but he isn't wrong, there's definitely something between us and I was a fool to deny it for so long but I can't say that it doesn't scare the shit out of me.
