“Amber-Rose. Of course you’re safe with me, and I want you to be with me all the time. But let’s face it—we can’t always be in the same place all the time. I need to make sure you’re safe even when I’m not with you. What’ll happen when you’re in Santa Maria?”

“You’ll just have to follow me.”

He cocks his head. “Think about it.”

Of course, I don’t want him to drop everything just for me like he’s my slave. He has a life, too.

“Fine. I’ll think about it.”

Towel-clad, I sprawl in Rob’s executive chair. He halts his steps, grumbling behind his clamped lips.

“What is it, boss?” I tease him.

“If you’re gonna stay like that, lock the door. Please?”

“Guarding your reputation?” My head follows his movements as he rounds the desk to meet me. His eyes shoot straight to the spot between my legs.

“No. I just don’t want any other man to see you like this,” Rob says very close to my ear. Then he kisses me, giving me a small lick on my lobe while his palm brushes at my pelvis under the towel. “Be good.”

Someone is at the door. “The boardroom is ready.” It’s Kylie.

Rob looks at his watch. “For what?”

“Morning break,” Kylie clarifies.

He frowns. “What morning break?”

“With the new catering guy. The charming Mr. Smith—your competition, if I may remind you.”

“That’s today?” He scoffs. “I’ll be right there.”

“You have a morning break with your competitor?” I say.

“Well, Kylie is smitten with this guy. She thinks he’s my competition in the looks department.”

I want to see this guy! But—no. No one looks better than my Rob. I get up to meet him and pull at his tie. “Competition? What competition?”

Seemingly appeased with my answer, he says, “I’ll make that point clear to Kylie, if you’ll join me.”

“Okay.” I let the towel drop to the floor.

“Jesus. Get dressed, please!” Rob palms my breasts. If any bra felt supportive and warm like this, I’d buy the whole factory. “I’ll wait for you in the garden,” he says. “I need to make a couple of phone calls.”

I give him one last gaze to steal a few more moments. “I’ve never realized your eyes are so blue…”

“Because I’m happy.”

“Happy, or sexually fulfilled?”

“Happy,” he says adamantly. “That encompasses everything.”

I hide behind the door to allow Rob to leave without having to expose me, and then I step back into the bathroom, freshening up. I lather the Givenchy body lotion Rob has on his vanity over my arms. It smells masculine, but having Rob’s scent on me feels right this morning.

While I have my skinny jeans to change into, I realize that I didn’t bring a fresh top—not even another bra. For that, I raid Rob’s closet and pick out a white shirt. A rush of warmth engulfs me as I put on the luxurious cotton top. It’s just a business shirt, but it’s Rob’s, and any object that’s made contact with his skin is sexy. The fabric is rather thin. Thank goodness I brought my jacket—otherwise, Hartley Marine would experience an unwelcome nipple-fest.

I wander around, checking out the spaces my billionaire boyfriend spends time in when he’s not having sex with me. Soon I find Rob wandering in the interior garden, which I first spotted through his office windows.

“Symbols of good luck,” he says when I gaze at the koi fish swimming in the expansive pond.
