“How do I turn it on?” I flip the device, looking for a switch among the screws and buttons.

“See this lever here? You just need to flick it to the ‘on’ position—I mean this dot.”

“Hmm… very intricate.”

“I don’t need to know where you are. Because I’ll know.” He touches his own heart this time.

I feel the device. The metal feels warm in my hand, like it has life inside. “I might just turn it on sometime for fun. And to see if it is still working as you claim.” I put it in my purse.

“It is still working, trust me.”

Bit by bit, I slink out of his embrace, then saunter around the room, checking the ensuite, library, and closet. “You’ve got everything here.”

“Yeah.”

It’s now or never. Whatever happens between us, however I feel about him and him about me, Raffi is still my priority.

I return to Clayton, pressing myself against him, kneading his ass. “So, where’s the bed?”

“I don’t have a bed here. But it doesn’t mean we can’t—” He puts his weight on me, forcing me to lay on his desk.

“You don’t believe a good day starts with making your bed, then?”

He ignores me, pulling the pins that are holding my hair together.

“Clayton… I spent an hour creating that bun!”

A nonchalant smirk curves across his face. He then cups the back of my head, burying his hand in my hair—playful, like he’s about to enter wonderland.

“Sorry, but not sorry,” he hisses.

I pull the hem of his shirt, patting the waist of his pants. He’s about to unbuckle his belt, and once again, his access card is within my reach.

“Mr. Hartley!” his assistant’s voice blares from behind the door. “Rob and Amber are in the conference room. The prince is ten minutes away,”

“Fuck…” Clayton grumbles.

He tucks his shirt back in, telling me adamantly, “We’ll have time for this. Well, I’ll make time for this.”

I get up from his desk, my hands trembling like I’d just crawled on ice.

He frowns at me. “Hey, you okay?”

Clearly I don’t look okay, because this is the third time he’s asked since he picked me up.

“Yeah, just nervous about meeting this prince.”

“Don’t be.”

I flick my hair playfully, then put a hand on his lapel. “Damn, you look so handsome in a tux.”

“You’ve only just noticed?” He starts fussing with my hair again as we embrace. “You should keep your hair down, Baby Belle. At all times.”

“Your wish is my command.” I tousle my hair, letting the texture brush his skin.

“You know, baby… when we were up in the air…”

He appraises me. I can still feel his bulge, but I think what’s on his mind is about something that doesn’t involve his cock. He puts his fingers through my hair, sighing. “Never mind. For another time. Let’s not leave Rob high and dry.”
