“Get the shower started,” Christian said as we entered my office.
“Yep.”
Hyde disappeared into the bathroom. Light moved around the room before I heard the shower come on. He sat me on my desk. My shirt tugged away from my skin and I moved on instinct. My hand collided with Christian’s, slapping him hard as he stared at me like I’d grown a second head.
“I- Ah, please!” I grabbed his wrist as his hand wrapped around my throat. “Didn’t mean it.”
Dark eyes glared into mine. The look he gave me, the hold he had on my throat, the weight of his body pressed between my legs; it was all too much. Wetness stained my thighs and I squirmed in his grasp.
Stop touching me or I’ll lose it!
“Reverend, I’m going to suggest you not hit me again,” he said before leaning in. “Because if you do, I’m going to stuff my cock up that pretty little cunt until you’re praying to God for entirely new reasons.”
I tried to swallow around his grasp. He squeezed harder. A whimper fell from my lips as I stared up at him.
“Nod your head if you understand.”
I nodded hard.
“Good girl,” he growled.
His hand pulled away from my throat and I coughed as cool air rushed into my lungs. Christian backed off, but he kept his eyes on me.
“Woah, what did I miss?” Hyde asked, chuckling as he walked over to us. “And why is the reverend looking a little red?”
I wanted to melt into a puddle and slide into a hole in the floor. I touched my throat, keeping my gaze away from Christian. Hyde swaggered up to me before reaching out. His fingers pushed mine away as he examined my throat.
“You’ll have to forgive him. Our VP can have a short temper.” He looked over to Christian then back to me. “Let me get these clothes off you.”
I shook my head as I shot back. “I can undress myself.”
Hyde held up his hands. “Okay, I’m not going to force you to do anything you don’t want to do.” He leaned forward and I could smell the cologne on his skin, something dark and woodsy that I wanted to get another whiff of. “But I can guarantee you’d have a hell of a lot more fun if I took your clothes off for you.”
I stared at him. These men are testing my faith. Yes, that’s what they were: a test. One I wouldn’t fail.
I hopped down from my desk and instantly regretted it. Sharp, throbbing pain wrapped around my knee. My legs buckled and I gripped the desk to keep from falling to the ground. Strong arms circled around me. I looked up at Christian.
“This is why I was helping you take your damn clothes off. Do you want help or not?”
Not from you.
If I let him undress me, he would toss me onto a very slippery slope, one where I would want every bit of what he said to me. Every dirty word that turned into dirty actions. I squeezed my eyes shut.
“He can help me,” I muttered, nodding toward Hyde.
“Whatever.”
Christian shoved me toward Hyde. The man caught me and I glared at Christian. He made a move toward me and I quickly thought better and wiped the look off my face.
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.” Hyde helped me limp toward the bathroom. “Why don’t you go check on Grimm?”
Christian grunted his response and left. Chuckling, Hyde continued helping me into the bathroom. Once his phone was set up behind the faucet of the sink, light illuminating the room, he sat me on the lid of the toilet.
“Alright, let’s get these clothes off of you. The hot water is going to run out if we don’t hurry up. If it hasn’t already.”
I nodded. Hyde moved slowly as if he was approaching a caged animal. Not that I could blame him. I did keep bolting at the first sign of danger. I meant it when I said I couldn’t run now. I could barely walk.
Carefully, he peeled my top off of my sweat slicked skin. As he undressed me, I peered at him more closely than I had before. He looked younger than the others and didn’t have either man’s hard edge, but there was still something about him that made you not want to mess with the man. A strong jaw and high cheekbones gave him a natural model look, but there was a scar through his eyebrow and another on his cheek.
