CHAPTER ONE

DOWNFALL – UNSECRET & TINA PAROL

Leo

There’s blood on my tie.

Again.

Had I known my sister was joining the negotiations, I would have dressed for torture. But, in true Lara fashion, she gatecrashed, and the situation devolved.

Mr. Giordano and I were having a civilized conversation as to how he was going to make up for the coke he shorted us in last week’s shipment. I made one or two threats—using my gun to drive the point home, of course—but there was no bone breaking or blood spilling.

We were in the middle of discussing the logistics of next month’s extra generous delivery when my psycho sister made her entrance.

Someone had let Giordano’s fuck up slip, and Lara was going through one of her phases. Taking everything personally. Before I could even finish my sentence, she’d broken the nose of one of his guards and relieved his son of a back molar. Where she pulled the pliers from was anyone’s guess.

It only got bloodier from there.

Did I mention that Mr. Giordano is one of our father’s closest friends? But Lara started it, so she can explain it when they undoubtedly send him a surgery bill. Or three.

“Lara made another one of her…messes,” I say, meeting Diego’s eyes in the rearview mirror.

“Sad I missed it, sir,” he replies, mirth in his voice.

“Don’t you dare encourage her,” I chide, failing to hide my smile. “One of these days that crazy bitch is going to get us killed.”

Diego twists all the way around so I can see his deadpan expression.
