“Why are you looking at me?” She asked without opening her eyes.

“Because I want to.” There was no way in hell I was going to confess how I was now obsessed with her.

Lifting her arms, she placed her hands on my chest and pushed. There was hardly any strength behind it. “I should go.”

She wasn’t wrong. If she didn’t leave and soon, I was going to fuck her until she couldn’t walk.

Rolling off her, I laid on my back with my hands behind my head as I watched Payton slowly sit up and scramble for her clothes.

“I feel funny,” Payton said as she pulled her underwear up her tanned legs. Her eyes were barely more than slits.

“That’s what good sex will do to you. Now you’re addicted, but will never have me again.” I scoffed internally. If I thought for one moment, I could be done with her. I was only fooling myself. Each time I was inside of her, my need for her became more consuming. There was no way now that I could stay away from her. Thoughts of pulling her into a dark classroom and bending her over a desk or up against a wall filled my thoughts. I wasn’t finished with Payton, and I wasn’t sure if I ever would be.

“I can’t afford to have you in my life, Archer.”

I wondered why, but I didn’t ask. Instead, I responded with the next sentence that slipped from my tongue.

“You can’t afford not to.” I would make her life a living hell if she tried to get away.

Payton walked unsteadily on her feet as she made her way to my door. I hadn’t realized I’d fucked her so hard. Goal accomplished. She’d be feeling me for the rest of the weekend, and when she saw me again on Monday.

I didn’t move a muscle until she slowly closed my bedroom door behind her. My room smelled like sex and citrus. If I had any chance of getting any sleep tonight, I needed to get obliterated. First, though, I was going to get some fresh air.

As I walked down the stairs, I could hear the party in full swing in the basement. Opening the sliding door that led to the backyard, I took in a deep breath of the night air. It wasn’t refreshing. It smelled like booze and pot.

The sound of a splash caught my attention and then a garbled shout.

What the fuck?

It only took me two long strides to see the pool. For an instant, I was shocked at what I witnessed, and then I saw red.

Blonde hair I would recognize anywhere was being held underneath the water’s surface. The form crouched at the edge of the pool was unidentifiable in the darkness of the night.

Why had I turned the lights off back here?

Oh yeah, I didn’t want anyone having sex in my pool, and I thought with the lights off, it would deter those who had the idea. Never did I think it would give anyone ample opportunity to try to commit murder.

Rushing forward, I watched as horror filled me.

Payton’s hands scrambled and scratched as she tried to get away, and they slowly slid down his arms and into the water.

“No,” I roared. Realizing my mistake. The dark figure leapt from the ground and disappeared into the black of night as I dove into the pool. Payton’s lifeless body floated in the middle as I came up from underneath her. Red filled the water at an alarming rate. Wrapping her in my arms, I swam to the swallow end of the pool. Cradling her in my arms, I lifted her out and laid Payton down on the concrete. My shaky hands went over each inch of her body, trying to identify where she was hurt.

She wasn’t breathing.

My hands went to her chest as I shouted until my voice went hoarse.

“HELP!”
