As I carefully walk down the aisle, I recall the moments we first spent together; the night we met for drinks, the morning after, that time he brought my old engagement ring back, that fancy dinner, the sloppy kiss in the parking lot, and even that trip to Jefferson High.

Then, I recall the moments leading here—toourdream wedding.

When we got drinks after I met with Larson, the morning we had breakfast together in our underwear, that time he got me a better engagement ring, a fancy dinner out of state to celebrate our anniversary, more sloppy kisses everywhere, and bringing me back to Jefferson High where he proposed to me six months ago.

As I close the distance between us, he takes me by the hand with the brightest smile I’ve ever seen—the only smile I want to see for the rest of my life.

Carter leans closer to me to whisper, “Did you look in the mirror before coming here? Because it’s so hard not to like you.”

I let out a quiet laugh. “It’s so hard not to like you, too. I guess that’s why we’re getting married.”

Carter agrees. “Best decision of my life.”

As I let his words soothe me, I smile at the thought that I’m not the Estelle Gibbs he first knew, but I’m the Estelle Gibbs he loves.
