It was always my order. First cute, deadly afterward.

When I returned back to my room, I started getting out of my pajamas. I have already picked the clothes. I was going to wear cream pants and a very cute small cream top. I didn’t know where we were going and wanted to wear something comfortable. Also, cream clothes and my gold jewelry looked so good together. I mean, everything looked good on me but still…

I only put on mascara and brown lipstick. I was going for a casual look. There was no point in wearing a satin dress and heavy make-up. Comfy was good.

After I checked my reflection one last time in the mirror, I sent a quick text to Antonio saying it was time for me to use my magic and sneak out. I wanted him to be ready, so I wouldn’t have to wait too long in the lobby. It was dangerous.

I walked with my cat-feet, being silent as hell. I was going to tell the guard I was going down to the hotel’s bar. I was dressed fitting for an in-hotel activity. He was probably going to suggest escorting me or something, but I was good at waving shit like that off.

Just when I was about to open the door to give my sweet talk to the guard, a voice from the darkness stopped me. “Where to?”

I froze. Should I be happy it was not Gabriele or damn my luck because it was Michele? He was not just sitting in the living room or anything. He was waiting in the darkness. The sneaky bastard was onto something.

“Couldn’t sleep,” I answered with ease. It was not like I would give him a long explanation any other time.

He didn’t take my answer, though. Instead, he got closer to me, an ugly smile on his lips. “Where to, Priscilla?”

“Hotel bar.”

His grin widened. Damn, he was really onto something. “Let’s go together then. I can't sleep as well.”

I raised my eyebrows in a mocking way. “What makes you think I want to spend my precious time with you?”

“And who do you prefer spending it with?” he asked, tapping his bottom lip in a curious way. Then he got closer to me, too close. “Antonio Mazzoni, maybe?”

Oh shit. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

He laughed like he won something. It was not my best answer, but I doubted he would be convinced by any answer at this point.

“I am good at seeing secret affairs, Priscilla,” he said. Of course, he was. “I saw how he held you while dancing, and I saw how he followed you to the bathroom today. I knew you were a slut but letting him fuck you was a shitty move, you have to admit. It will freak Gabriele out.”

“I didn’t fuck him,” I explained. Normally I wouldn’t care what he said. I would just laugh and brush it off but not this time. I didn’t want him to tell this to Gabriele. He might not believe me and just fuck things off because of his anger. I didn’t want that at all. He had to be in oblivion until I knew what I was going to do about Antonio.

Michele let out a snort. Of course, he didn’t believe me. “I actually don’t care. This could be for my benefit, you know. This can make Gabriele put off the truce.”

My brows came together. “You don’t want the truce?”

“I want power over Chicago.”

Well, good luck with that. Gabriele having power over Chicago was a hard but manageable thing. He could conquer here, but Michele… Michele couldn’t even have power over East Coast on his own. His wish was rather comedic.

“You can’t have it,” I clarified.

“I can,” he said with his grin full on my face again. “If you help me, I can, and you will help me. I can use Antonio through you. I mean, I made sure Gabriele didn’t realize he followed you inside today.”

This might be the first good thing he did to me all our lives.

Even though he did it for his own benefit, I was still shocked. “How the fuck are you going to use it?”

“Well, if he just uses you, I can blackmail him. Gabriele would be furious if he finds out he fucked you.” he tilted his head like he was thinking, but I could tell he already thought about this answer. “And if you can trap him, I can expect a payment from you.”

Payment from me? Yeah right. “Payment for what, shithead?”

This time insults didn’t even falter him. He was not getting good at ignoring me. He was just too damn happy about the situation we were in. “For distracting Gabriele. For helping you sneak out tonight because guards are specifically ordered to not let you go out.” Maybe always sneaking away was not giving me a good record. “And, of course, for convincing Gabriele when the time comes. Even if you can trap Antonio, you will need Gabriele’s permission. He loves you and hates him, so he is not going to want it. He might not like me much, especially at the moment, but he cares about the family too much. He is going to value my opinion on your marriage.”

I hated that he was right. I had to think about this long and hard, but right now, I didn’t have the necessary time. I was filled with the want and need to see Antonio. I didn’t want to make him wait. I could deal with Michele’s shit later.

I smiled a fake smile and nodded, “Deal.”
