Mia’s head was in Salvatore’s lap, and he was checking his phone, probably answering business e-mails. That was what I was supposed to do as well. We had to make up for the time we were not in Chicago.

Valerio, Verona, and Bianca were all together watching something on one of their laptops. I was not excited to have a Ricci at my wedding, but Bianca became a part of our lives since she got along well with the twins. She was older than them, but it was hard to find friends in Cosa Nostra. Mia always seemed grateful towards Bianca because she was one of the few people Verona felt comfortable with, and she was always ready to spend time with her.

My father and mother were not with us because Pippa wanted to see a little bit more of New York. At least, that was what my father told everyone. In reality, I knew he was leaving Alessio to take care of the business because he was getting ready to retire and make him the Underboss since I was already consigliere.

I looked down at Priscilla. She was still holding my hand, but there was a weird look on her face. I leaned in to whisper into her ear. “Are you well?”

She looked up and smiled crookedly. “I am always a little nervous during take-off.”

“Are you scared of flying?”

“No, just the take-off part.”

I nodded, understanding. It didn’t make sense, but not much did with Priscilla. She just needed comfort. I didn’t need to understand that feeling. I could give it to her.

I pressed a kiss to her hairline and squeezed her hand. “It is okay. I am here.”

To that, her whole face lit up. It was so easy to gain that look. It was so easy to act the way she needed. It might be addicting for some other men, but I was not prone to addictions. Quitting smoking didn’t even require any effort for me. I decided I needed to quit, and it was done. It was always easy to let go of unimportant things for me.

But I let myself get addicted to that smile because Priscilla would never be not important to me.

Throughout the take-off, Priscilla buried her head into her seat and held my hand in a deadly grip. She was stronger than she looked, but it was not enough to hurt me. I let her use me for her comfort. It was essential in marriage, according to my father.

When we were safely in the air, she seemed quite comfortable. Her smile was back too. She kissed my cheek like a thank you. She didn’t need to thank me. It was my duty to comfort her as a husband.

Then she moved to my ear and whispered, “Is there a bed in this plane?”

Heat surged in my body. I wanted to take Priscilla again more than anything, but there was no way I could have sex with her while my whole family was on the same plane. We were supposed to wait until we were back at home. “I don’t think it is a good idea.”

Priscilla’s cheeks turned pink at my answer, and she looked around to see if anyone had heard. I couldn’t understand. She was the one who started it.

“I didn’t mean that,” she answered with a whisper.

“Then why?”

“I am tired, and I have a headache. I want to sleep.”

She had a headache? “Are you well? Does it happen a lot?” I put a hand on her forehead to see if she had a fever even though her cheeks turned pink because she was embarrassed. I really didn’t want my wife to be sick. It was not very fitting for my plans.

Priscilla giggled at my questions even though they were perfectly reasonable. “I am okay. It might be because I went to bed with wet hair.”

Was it my fault that she had a headache? Did I mess up? I never messed up. “If I knew you were sensitive, I would have dried your hair better.”

“Antonio!” Priscilla groaned like I was the one who was not making sense and then kissed my lips. I tried to not pay attention to if anyone saw that. “I just want to sleep. Is there a bed?”

I suppressed all of my urge to lecture her and nodded. “There is. Come, I’ll take you.”

I took her hand and moved to the bedroom in the back. Mia called out after us as we were leaving, “Don’t do anything naughty. Clara is here.”

My brows furrowed, and I turned to my sister with a slightly disgusted look. “Only problem is Clara?”

Mia shrugged and giggled at me. At my side, Priscilla giggled along with her. I only pulled her to the bedroom. It was already a tiring day.

“Yaay!” she said and lay on the bed.

I sat down and touched her hip. “Do you want me to stay with you?”

Priscilla’s brows moved playfully. “To do naughty things?” she asked in amusement. She really enjoyed pushing my buttons.
