My throat went dry. “Did I hurt you?” I asked without looking at her.
“Right now?” Priscilla asked with confusion. “I am sore, but you are gentle.”
This time I looked into her eyes. “Priscilla, did Ihurtyou?”
“Oh, the sex. Well, it was intense, but I enjoyed it. If I didn’t, I would have stopped you.”
Some relief came over me, and I kept cleaning between her legs. “I wanted to fuck you until you couldn’t walk, but I didn’t think I was really going to do it.”
Priscilla laughed, and the clouds in my chest, in my mind, suddenly disappeared. All I felt was sunshine. I cleaned her thoroughly and then tidied up the bed without disturbing her. I wore briefs and got in the bed with Priscilla.
“Do you feel okay?” I asked again to be sure, or else I wouldn’t be able to sleep.
She nodded. “Now, hold me.”
I didn’t hold back my smile at her bratty tone. She changed roles so fast, and I was fascinated with all of them. I got closer to her, and Priscilla laid her head to my chest and snuggled up to my side. I started caressing her hair, and she gave a happy little sigh. After that, she fell asleep.
I, on the other hand, took so long to fall asleep because I was busy just watching her and smiling at the sight.
Chapter 22
Antonio
“I still don’t know how you can endure her. Isn’t she irritating?” Salvatore asked and took a drag from his cigarette.
Nothing in my expression changed. It was hard as stone since the second they started to talk about Priscilla. “I advise you to be very careful when you talk about my wife.”
Salvatore smiled with amusement. “Aww, Antonio, are you turning into a softy?”
Alessio joined him. “That must be how you keep her happy. I can’t see a woman as joyful as she would enjoy your scowling face 24/7.”
“I do smile when the situation requires it,” I explained. It was not the whole truth. Now I smiled when it was not necessary as well. Priscilla made me smile in the most unneeded times. I found that irritating, yes, but I was not going to tell them.
Alessio patted my cheek with a huge grin. “Keep believing that, brother.”
I kept my grunt inside. “My wife is quite happy in our marriage. Thank you for your concerns.” I thought all their teasing about marriage would stop after the wedding, but it was the exact opposite. I was not sure when they were going to get bored of making fun of me.
Salvatore leaned back to the patio railing. “Well, to be honest, she seems happy, but I just thought she was not able to get upset. Everything is always too good for her. That is irritating.”
She was very optimistic and confident, but I knew it was not the whole truth. I knew she had insecurities, even when it concerned me. I still couldn’t stop remembering her crying face when she had her period and thought I was going to be disappointed in her. My throat tightened at the memory, but I didn’t show a trace of it to them. They didn’t need my problems in their lives. I was capable of getting over them on my own. So, I simply answered, “You don’t know her.”
“Well, apparently. She even got you to quit smoking.” Alessio took a drag from his cigarette, which he was smoking in secret.
I took a deep breath. It was like they never heard what I talked about. Just when I was about to answer him, Salvatore did it for me. “He quit because he is trying to knock her up.”
Alessio shrugged. “I never had any problem with that.”
Salvatore gave him a deadly look. “Yeah, we all noticed.”
“You cannot be mad at me. Clara is impossibly cute.”
I guessed she was. I was still having a hard time understanding what was cute, but Salvatore agreed with him. Even his eyes softened at the little girl’s name. She was growing up like a princess.
Alessio then looked at me with furrowed brows. “Does Priscilla want children?”
“Of course. I wouldn’t have forced her into it without asking her.”
My brother nodded, but he was still thoughtful. “She just doesn’t seem like the mother type to me. I mean, she is still so young and carefree. I thought she would want to have that crazy honeymoon phase Bella and I had. You know, partying and having sex all the time.”
