“D-Dante, wait. Wait.”

She stopped walking and pulled back a bit in the opposite direction so he’d stop too. She watched his back as he stopped, and heard him sigh before he turned to her. His golden eyes briefly went somewhere behind her, as if he was checking the Dragon hadn’t followed them.

“...Why did we walk away?” Eden muttered.

“We didn’t have to listen to his nonsense.”

“Is it really nonsense, though? Dante... There are some things that match.”

“He might be lying.”

“And he might be telling the truth.”

The Tiger’s golden eyes went down to her. It was hard to decipher his emotions, but he didn’t seem angry, or upset. In fact, he was surprisingly calm, Eden thought. Calmer than she was, at least on the surface. She could see his clenched jaw and the very thin wrinkle between his eyebrows. Plus, his golden eyes would sometimes glance somewhere behind her with a scary expression.

“...Is it that important to you?” he asked.

Eden’s eyes looked down at their joined hands. Dante’s thumb was gently rubbing the back of her hand as if to soothe her. He was always so sweet with her... It helped her calm down a bit, and she grabbed his hand with her other hand as well, nodding slightly.

“...Adam was really important to me,” she said. “He… saved my life, when I came to the Suburbs. He was an orphan and had grown up there, while I had just lost my mom and had no idea what to do, where to go. The Suburbs terrified me, but Adam took me under his wing like a big brother. He shared his hiding spots with me and taught me how to run away if I ever got in trouble. He showed me how… to steal food, how to find places to sleep. He even showed me how to fight back and endure hits if an adult tried to beat me.”

The more she talked, the more memories and regret began flooding Eden’s mind. If the Dragon had wanted to make her curious, he had succeeded. Now, she couldn’t bear to not know what had truly happened to Adam, if any of it was true. The memory of the boy being shot down, and then taken away, was still vivid in her mind. What had the previous Tiger done to him? And to Dante? How much of what the Dragon had said was true? Was Adam really… a part of Dante? How was that even possible and if it was, how many other boys were killed to create the man before her?

Eden felt truly sick the more she thought about it.

“...I think I’m going to throw up,” she admitted, covering her mouth.

“You can do it here.”

“It’s the middle of a corridor,” she groaned.

“Yes.”

He obviously didn’t care, but Eden did. She didn’t want to throw up in the middle of the Zodiac’s place.

“Loir?”

“There’s another bathroom two doors down, my Kitty. On the left! ...Is it the shrimp dumplings?”

Eden barely had time to free her hand from Dante’s grasp and run there. To her own surprise, she really did throw up in the bathroom, although it was mostly liquid since she hadn’t touched the food from the buffet. She gave herself the time to make sure nothing else was coming out, breathing loudly and crouching down in front of the toilet.

“...Those were the most disgusting sounds I had heard in a while,” muttered Loir. “Feeling better, my Kitty?”

“Are you alright?” asked Dante, almost at the same time.

Eden nodded, feeling a bit dizzy but less nauseous. She got to the bathroom sink to rinse her mouth and then stepped back to sit on the toilet seat, putting her head in her hands. Dante handed her something to wipe her mouth with. She took it and used it until she recognized the fabric.

“...You could have handed me something other than your shirt,” she grumbled.

He crouched down in front of her, half-naked and almost too big for the little stall. He obviously didn’t care about showing his skin, but Eden did. In fact, she did her best to look elsewhere. What kind of a situation was this... Her and her lover secluded in a bathroom stall, after she had thrown up from discovering he might be made out of other human boys.

“Our Big Kitty likes to put on a good strip show for our little Kitty!” squealed Loir.

Eden rolled her eyes. Each time she almost forgot about the annoying hacker, he found a way to remind her of his presence in her ear...

“Do you feel better?” Dante asked again.

“...I don’t know. What he said... Dante, it’s just disgusting.”
