Archie’s eyes widen in surprise. “But…I didn’t tell you it’s my birthday today…”

I let out a wry breath of laughter. “You’re a professional footballer, Archie. It’s hardly top secret information.” I slide his plate closer to him and offer a knife and fork. “Eat up. We need to fit in time for your birthday blow job before we leave for training.”

Archie yanks the cutlery from my hand and dives on his pancakes as though he’s in an eating competition. He doesn’t ask me where my serving of pancakes is; he knows me well enough to know I’m not going to indulge in this kind of breakfast on a training day.

I’d probably be too distracted to eat anyway. Archie has a habit ofvocalisinghis enjoyment when he’s eating. And the noises he’s making right now are borderline indecent.

I manage to hold out for a minute or two, but as I watch him lick syrup from his fork, his eyes closed in an expression of pure bliss, my fragile hold on my willpower snaps.

“Okay, I’ve changed my mind. No birthday blow job.”

Archie’s eyes blink open and he stares at me, looking baffled. “What? Why?”

I slide my fingers through the knob of butter I got out to make the pancakes, then move so I’m standing right behind him. “You’re getting a birthday fuck instead,” I growl in his ear, tugging his pajama bottoms down with my free hand.

There’s no argument whatsoever as I push my slick fingers inside him. And when it’s time for my cock, I fuck him hard and dirty right there over the?worktop.

By the time we’re done, Archie’s a fucking mess, covered in cum and butter and syrup and orange juice. And he’s never looked sexier.

By some miracle, we manage to make it through training without anyone giving me away. Although I’m sure that’s mainly because the bulk of the playing group has no idea what I’m planning. If there’s anything I’ve learned over the past twenty years it’s that the fewer people who know a secret, the easier it is to keep.

As the day goes on and we get closer to go-time, I’m starting to feel more and more nervous. It’s ridiculous; I’m accustomed to playing in front of tens of thousands of spectators, not to mention all the people watching on telly, and yetthisis making me nervous?

“Are you okay?” Archie asks from where he’s curled up next to me on the couch. “You seem a little tense.”

I force myself to relax and run a hand over his arm. “I’m good.” I’ve just never been very good at waiting for something to happen.

It’s early evening, and we’re just relaxing and watching some telly after finishing up the dinner I made. I really hate that we weren’t able to go out and do something special for Archie’s birthday, but I’m hoping what I have planned for tonight will help make up for that.

After what feels like an eternity of patience, I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I tug it out and see it’s the expected group text from Alex.

Alex Williams:Vinnie wants everyone back at the stadium at 7.30 tonight

“Do you know what this is about?” Archie asks, staring at his phone in confusion.

Of course, I do. But I’m not about to let on and give away the surprise I’ve been working so hard on, so I just shrug and do my best to look baffled. “No idea. Maybe he wants a scrimmage under lights or something.”

It’s not entirely out of character for Vinnie to call a last minute training session—he does like to keep us on our toes, after all. But it’s never happened on a day when we’ve already been put through our paces that morning. Unsurprisingly, the chat is full of a lot of confused and disgruntled messages from the playing group.

Massimo di Costa:What’s going on?

Sean Fisher:Who’s coming out this time?

Koen Vizser:I thought we already did the initiation?

Davey Carlisle:This had better be worth me missing Bake Off!

Sean Fisher reply to Davey Carlisle:It’s week one bro, what are you really missing?

Davey Carlisle reply to Sean Fisher:Cake Week!

Robbie Sexton reply to Davey Carlisle:Any old sod can bake a cake. Pastry week is where the cream really rises to the top!

Sean Fisher reply to Robbie Sexton:Pastry week? Are you daft bro? Patisserie Week’s where champions are made

Robbie Sexton reply to Sean Fisher:Can’t get to Patisserie Week if they don’t survive Pastry Week

Davey Carlisle reply to Robbie Sexton:Or Cake Week!
