Another shot. This one goes down easier. She downs her second, then her third.

“You seem awfully sure of yourself,” I say, watching in fascination as she polishes off a fourth. Dear God, she’s going to make herself sick at this rate.

“You’re a gentleman, remember?” she says with a mischievous grin. “That’s why you haven’t kissed me yet. You had your chance at the aquarium, but you didn’t take it.”

I lick my lips. “You noticed that, huh?”

“Hard not to.” Her cheeks are cute and rosy, her lips parted just so. “I would have let you, you know.”

My mouth goes dry. It looks like her plan to get me drunk for the sake of extraction has backfired. Unless this was all a part of her plan and she’s only pretending? I honestly can’t tell. She’s already proven herself a capable actress. Dani may look like a lightweight, but what if it’s all a trick?

I literally can’t trust anything she tells me… no matter how much I want to.

“What else would you let me do?” I ask her, watching her intently.

“What would you like to do?” Dani fills my shot glass. Her hand is incredibly steady—a sign that she’s not actually drunk? She looks like a whiff of vodka would knock her onto her ass. It’s impossible at this point to tell.

I suck in a deep breath before downing the shot. “Any number of things,” I confess.

“Tell me,” she says, unabashed.

I slowly shove the table between us to the side, bending forward to grab the front legs of her chair. I pull Dani toward me until there’s no space between us, our knees knocking against each other as I lean in. She’s still got the bottle of tequila in hand, her eyes dark with lust.

“I’d rather show you.”

“Then what are you waiting for?”

There’s a challenge in her words, and I’ve never been known to back down from one. Slowly, I reach out to cup her face in my palms. I eye her lips hungrily, the air around us a building electrical charge. I’m about to dive in to claim her mouth, but she’s quick to put the rim of the bottle to my lips.

“It’s going to cost you,” she says with a quiet laugh. Her voice is like expensive champagne, light and bubbly and intoxicating. “If you want a kiss, you have to take a shot.”

I chuckle. “That’s not fair. You’re making up the rules as you go.”

“Do you have a problem with that?”

My hands fall to her hips, my fingers digging slightly into her curves as I pull Dani onto my lap. She gasps as she straddles me, her one hand grasping my shoulder for balance as I greedily grab her ass. She’s so soft and warm against me, the scent of coconuts even stronger up close.

“Open your mouth.”

Dani brings the bottle to my lips and pours freely. Some of the tequila misses entirely and drips down my chin, soaking into the front of my sweater.

“Oops,” she mumbles, though she doesn’t seem the least bit apologetic.

“I want a kiss.”

“It’ll cost—”

I take the bottle from her and set it aside impatiently. I don’t know what’s come over me. Maybe there’s a reason it’s called liquid courage, because I’m normally never this brash and out of control. Ineedher lips on mine. I feel like I might go crazy if I don’t.

“Then kiss me already,” she pushes. I apparently spoke the last part aloud.

Dani dips down, wrapping her arms around my neck as our lips slot together—a perfect fit. She moans softly as we sink into each other’s heat, the sound going straight to my cock. It doesn’t help when Dani rolls her hips slightly, grinding against my aching erection. The tips of my fingers burn to touch, roaming through her hair, over her shoulders, down her back in some mad attempt at exploration.

Now that our nonsensical drinking game is officially forgotten, we get lost in the competitive nature of our kisses. We’re rough with each other, a back-and-forth game of tug and war. I momentarily forget how to breathe, so consumed with my need to taste her that my lungs lose function. When she pushes forward, I push back. Our tongues clash, warring for dominance.

“Luka…” she sighs as I move down to mark her neck.

She smells so fucking good. Too good. It makes me fucking feral and I don’t even care. That’s how I know I’m drunk, and she probably is, too. I definitely couldn’t have predicted the night taking such a drastic turn, but I’d be hard pressed to find a complaint.
