Did I just deliver a massive sum of money to this lady? It seemed that someone like her would not act like that if it were only money. I didn’t know why I thought that it might be money, but it was a likely gift from someone like my boss.

And what kind of a lady would live alone in this neighborhood? It still looked dangerous even though I knew it was well protected. I glanced around the house again. It looked like it lacked human presence.

My eyes returned to the lady, and I couldn't help but linger on her stunning features. Her long blonde hair cascaded down in waves, framing her perfectly symmetrical face. Her piercing blue eyes seemed to see right through me, and her full lips formed a frown that only added to her alluring charm. She looked like a person who took care of themself to get money from a sugar daddy but kept a boyfriend on the side. I wouldn’t mind being the boyfriend, though.

I couldn't help but admire her confidence and feisty demeanor, despite the tense encounter we had just had. Something was captivating about how she held herself, and I couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to know more about her. But I wasn’t about that life right now.

Finally, she looked up at me with a disapproving look on her face and gestured for me to leave.

"How rude," I said, clearly annoyed. She rolled her eyes.

"Tell them I expect the delivery before dusk tomorrow," she said, her tone clipped and unfriendly.

I sighed and made my way toward the front door. "You like the package that much, huh?" I sneered at her, feeling the urge to annoy the lady back.

She made her way swiftly toward me, and all she said was, "Goodnight, Mr. Anthony. I would be happy to report your conduct to my dad." Then, she shut the door in my face.

Shit.

If only I had known that she was the boss's daughter, I would have set my boundaries. The little minx did nothing to tell me about who her father was until now.

I got in the car, roared the engine to life, and took off.

I had heard at work on several occasions how much the boss adored his daughter Laura, but the other staff had made it clear that she was someone to steer clear of.

They also said the boss had previously lost two sons in his battle for power, and he blamed himself for not being able to protect them. He had been in a dark place for several years and had taken his revenge since then. As his only remaining child, the boss had become very protective of Laura. It was mentioned that he had once put a person through twelve hours of torture for disrespecting her. I wondered about the type of disrespect that had been.

I should have guessed from her demeanor that she was my boss’s daughter. She exuded a mean energy like her father. In fact, she carried so much of her father's aura, I was convinced I had just delivered a tool for her shady business, although I knew little about her career.

I dialed James's number.

"Hi, James, it's Anthony," I said when he answered. "I just delivered the package. Turns out it was for the boss's daughter."

James didn't reply.

"You there?" I asked.

"Shit! Shut up. Hold on…" he replied through labored breathing. Why was he always so angry? He took his job way too seriously.

"Yes, I’ll hold," I sighed. I patiently held the phone to my ear while waiting for James to finish what he was doing.

Clearly, I could sense some shady things were going on.

All I wanted to do was notify them that I wasn't going to return to that place, and I was headed home.

I pulled over to the side of the road and continued to wait for James to get back on the phone. It was almost 11 p.m., and I had a daughter! My patience was wearing thin, and I was getting really frustrated.

I continued to wait while forcing an energy drink that had been sitting in my car for hours down my throat. The warm liquid tasted awful.

"Hello, Anthony?" a familiar voice spoke through the phone.

"Boss?" I questioned.

"James mentioned that you got to Laura's place," he paused briefly.

Oh no. This had better not be Miss Devil’s Prawn acting out through her father. I breathed hard through my nose.

"Did she check the content?" he inquired. I hadn’t been instructed to inspect the lady's business.
