“I want to feel every inch of you,” he growled. “I want to look over my shoulder and watch you lose control.”

I nearly did just at the mere thought of burying myself in him. His heated words gave me vigor, and I pressed a bruising kiss to his mouth before breaking away to remove my trousers. He didn’t even give me the chance to keep tasting him. The moment I withdrew, he rolled to his stomach and exposed his glorious backside, and my mouth went dry. Nothing was more pleasing than the path of his spine leading to the dip just above his hips, the roundness of his ass.

I paused only for a moment to rummage through the nearby nightstand drawer. Fortunately, a collection of ointments and balms had been left behind, and I found a suitable lubricant among the glass jars. Gaige watched with rapt hunger as I screwed off the lid and coated myself. When I teased his rim, he groaned with anticipation.

“I need you inside me now. You promised a display. Now, give it to me.”

Heat flushed to my cheeks. I’d enjoyed the fullness of him twice already, but I’d yet to feel his body wrap around my length. I couldn’tdeny him. I didn’t want to deny him. But I did want to make him writhe. Pivoting my hips so my cock was no longer poised to enter him, I watched closely as he rolled his eyes in annoyance. When he opened his mouth to complain, I snuck between his gloriously firm ass and brought my tongue to his rim.

The resulting curse was by far my favorite reaction, and I continued to lave his entrance as he ground into me. When I was satisfied with my work, I lifted my head to find he’d skewered the pillow with his teeth and fisted the sheets. Several beads of moisture had already pearled from my tip, and I slid my hand along my length once before adding more lubricant to his rim. I positioned myself against his crease.

“Watch,” I murmured.

One simple request full of heat and lust, and Gaige’s eyes flew open. Lips parted in unrepentant want, he stared as I lined up and thrust inside. A deep groan simmered from the back of his throat as his eyes fluttered. There was only a smidge of resistance, and then he relaxed, drawing me in and wringing my nerves unbearably tight. I needed release as much as he did, so I wound my arm around his waist and found his cock.

He cursed again at my touch, and I shivered as I started to move in earnest. “Such a wicked, dirty mouth you have.”

“Only for you.” He never stopped looking at me. Not when I kissed the length of his sweat-slicked spine. Not when I anchored my free hand into his hip to set an unyielding pace. Pleasure drove us wild. He ground against my hand in time with my thrusts, and I got completely lost in everything that was him. In the salt-tinged scent of cedar and pears. In his heated moans barely muffled by his pillow. In the glorious sight of us joined together as one.

My release wound impossibly tighter, pulsing through my abdomen and begging me to find completion. Pulling Gaige against my chest, I spoke into the shelf of his ear. “I love you, Gaige.”

He let out a cry as he coated my hand and trembled in my arms. “I love you, Kost. Myanam-cara.”

Those words carried me into blissful oblivion, and I lost myself inside him. My orgasm shattered me entirely, and I held onto his broad body far longer than necessary simply to steady myself. As tension finally fled my frame, I eased my way out of him and collapsed to the bed with Gaige by my side.

He placed gentle kisses along my shoulder. My neck. My jaw. “That was quite the display.”

“I’m glad you approve,” I mumbled, still riding the high of adrenaline pumping through my veins. We lay together without saying anything at all for minutes, maybe hours… I didn’t care to find out. I was wrapped up in the feel of his fingers tracing whorls along my abdomen, in the slight tickle of his chest hair against my back. If we’d never left that bed, that room, it would’ve been quite all right by me. But eventually, there was a knock at the door, followed by a quiet inquiry from Kaori.

“Isla is preparing to depart. Are you able to meet with her before she leaves?”

A grumbling sigh pushed its way out of my chest. “Yes. We’ll convene at the dining tent shortly.”

“All right. I’ll gather everyone.” The sound of her quiet feet padding against the wooden floorboards signaled her departure, and I sank further into Gaige’s arms.

“Why did you agree to that?” I could feel his wry smile against my shoulder, so I turned over to capture it with my lips. He exhaled deeply and palmed my cheek.

Begrudgingly, I forced myself to pull away. “The Lost isn’t dead. We’ll need to discuss what that means for all of us. Isla seemed particularly flustered by his appearance.”

Gaige’s brows drew together. “She did.”

“Come on.” My body and mind protested greatly at those words, but I willed myself out of bed and began to dress. “We need to see her off. She’s the reason I was able to get back to you.”

Gaige yanked on his trousers. “You’rethe reason you were able to get back to me.”

“Yes, well…” I buttoned my shirt and moved to the door, pausing for a moment to check my reflection in the mirror and smooth the mussed pieces of my hair. “Agree to disagree, I suppose.”

Gaige sauntered behind me and draped one arm around my waist. “I have a feeling there will be a lot of that between us for years to come.”

“Indeed.” I turned to steal a quick kiss and then led us out the door, Gaige hot on my heels. When we emerged from the quaint cottage and broke out onto the lawn, he didn’t hesitate to take my hand and thread his fingers with mine. The action sent a jolt through my body, and I stutter-stepped before recovering. There was no denying the heat racing up the back of my neck and most certainly tingeing my ears a damning pink. I doubt I’d ever grow weary of the feel of his bare, ungloved hand in mine.

“This makes you blush?” Gaige said with a squeeze of my hand, confirming my suspicions. “Gods, I cannot wait to see what else I can do to make that hue cover your whole body.”

In that moment, he achieved just that. “Behave.”

He answered with a devilish chuckle that must’ve turned my blush from pallid pink to vibrant red.

When we arrived beneath the stretched canopy of the dining tent, Isla, the Council, Leena, and Noc were already seated. The area was clear of Charmers, and a few glasses of water had been placed around the table for each of us. Midmorning sunlight settled low over the quiet clearing, reminding me I must have been out for at least a day. My gaze immediately went to Calem, and I was relievedto see him relaxed as ever with his chair reclined on two legs and his hands cradling the back of his head. There was a slight sallowness to his eyes, a hint of exhaustion he had yet to shake, but his impish grin still deepened at the sight of Gaige’s and my intertwined hands.
