He let the cloth drift away in the water, teasing his fingers along the lips of her krana. “Does Her Majesty enjoy her magic tutor’s methods of instruction?”

“This is certainly my preferred way to learn.”

He dipped two fingers into her channel, finding her as slick inside as out. “If you complete one more challenge, I’ll give you a reward. But you must not open your eyes.”

She parted her thighs to sink into his touch. “Would your thelemancy enhance my awareness?”

“Yes, but we don’t want my magic to affect your perception. We want to test your own abilities.”

This time he conjured a spell light inside their bedchamber, in the alcove where their roses grew. Hooking his fingers, he pulled them slowly out of her.

She canted her hips, chasing his retreating hand. “It’s over our bed. It’s easier—to sense—even though it’s…farther away.”

“Why do you think that is?” He plunged his fingers inside her again.

“Your magical hands,” she groaned.

“That’s only part of the reason.” He increased the pace of his hand, penetration and retreat.

She shook her head. “Wishful thinking.”

“Tell me what you’re thinking.” He teased her kalux with his thumb.

At his touch on her most sensitive place, she clamped her knees on either side of his hips. “Our roses. Could I sense it better—because it’s near them?”

“That’s my theory,” he said with satisfaction.

“Ohh. My garden magic.” A smile flitted across her mouth. She rested her face in the crook of his neck, her fingers digging into his shoulders.

The flow of pleasure in her aura crested, ready to crash. He let his thelemancy rise at the boundaries of her mind like a tide. “Now, are you ready for your reward?”

“I’m ready.” Her husky voice echoed through his senses, her aura swimming with eagerness for his magic.

He was beyond ready, his postponed hunger making his fangs prick his lips. “Keep your eyes closed.”

He dragged his fingers out of her again, pulling her along the edge without sending her over. Turning them in the water, he sank back onto the bench and parted her knees so she straddled him.

She licked her lips. “I get the idea I earned the highest reward you offer, Sir Scholar.”

“Tell me if you find it satisfactory.” He grasped her hips in both hands and pulled her onto his hard, aching length, letting his magic plunge into her mind.

Deep, as deep as he could go in one move. Her low cry echoed around them. So good. Her body was hot in the warm bath, her hunger the tight grip he needed.

Her eyes had flown open. She tried to move, sending water lapping at his chest and torturous sensations along his shaft. He eased his hold, breathing deeply for control as she began to circle her hips.

“I want you to know just how much I prefer this seat to the throne of Tenebra.” She flexed her hips again.

He shuddered up into her. “You will find me much easier to conquer, My Queen.”

“Oh? You are not planning to resist?” She nibbled her way up his neck, pulsing her inner muscles to the same rhythm.

He bared his throat to her. “Why would I, when you rule me so well?”

She bit his earlobe, her tongue teasing his enchanted sapphire earring. Thank the Goddess for Lyros’s creation, which prevented her from breaking Lio’s skin. She could bite him anywhere they pleased without fear of drinking his blood before her Gifting.

“Any grievances I need to address?” she asked.

“I need you to bite harder, Your Majesty.”
