Tracy snapped back to reality. “What? He’s… uh…” She giggled. “He wants a job. And…” She sighed. “He’s the most attractive guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I have no idea how I’d be able to work with him, because he makes me feel like a giddy teenager.”

Leo looked at Gracie. “I think you’ll find a way. We did.”

Tracy smiled at them. “Yes, I suppose I will.”

After a good catch-up with Tracy the two headed over to the coffee shop to spend time with Henry and Kate. The sky was darkening with nightfall, and tiny white lights adorning trees and storefronts shone with a welcoming glow. Before Gracie and Leo stepped inside the café, they stopped for a moment to look at the stars. Gracie said, “This place is so magical. I’m never going to forget it.”

“I won’t either,” Leo said as he gazed down at her. “It’s where I met you.”

Gracie thought about how their time at Sugar Mountain seemed long ago. While it was a time of growth in her life, becoming a werebear was where she finally found her place in the world. “Leo,” she said. “You helped me see that I was meant for so much more than being the shy woman who let others determine her worth. And I know that my life with you is the one I was meant to have.”

“Gracie, I didn’t show you anything. Your power had been there all along. You just needed to be ready to use it so we both could have the life we are destined to have. I love you, my dearest mate, and I’m excited for all the years to come.”

“I love you, too.” She lifted up on her tiptoes and kissed him with the same dreams on her mind.
