Ilyas couldn't stophimself from staring at his secretary as he absently ran the towel down his neck. She still looked like she always did. A redheaded bit of trouble with appalling taste for both eyewear and clothes.

And yet...

Something about her was nagging at him.

There was something about her that he seemed to have forgotten...but what?

Ember couldn't help feeling nervous when she saw the way Ilyas' gaze had narrowed at her. Were they finally going to talk about last night? Or was he going to pretend again that nothing had happened? Or maybe he didn't really remember anything and—-

"Excuse me."

A girl had suddenly inserted herself between them, and Ember couldn't help wincing at the sound of her voice. It was too cute to be real, and that wasnotgood.

Ember tried catching the sheikh's eye to warn him from losing his temper, but with the girl already speaking again, it was already too late—-

"I just want to ask if you're done using the treadmill?"

The sheikh's lips tightened. "I got off already, didn't I?"

—-and all Ember could do was grab the demon prince's hand and drag him away before he could create a diplomatic crisis.

"You shouldn't have done that," Ember groaned under her breath.

"You know how much I hate it when people play dumb—-"

"Yes, yes, I know that. Everyone in the palace knows that, but we'renotat the palace, are we? We aren't even in Huzna, so please—-" Ember looked up at her royal bosshole. "Please tell me you won't do that again. Please? Please? Please?"

Ah, fuck.

Ilyas hated being nagged at, but it felt different for some reason when Ember was the one doing the nagging.

"C'mon, demon prince, please?"

"I get it," Ilyas snapped.

"You have a royal image to maintain," Ember went on anxiously. "And it's important that you keep a low profile since—-"

"I said I already get it," Ilyas growled, "so can we fucking go now?"

Ember wasn't at all bothered by the sheikh's irritated tone as she hurried after him. Ilyas lost his temper so many times a day that she was no longer affected by his scowls and growls, and—-
