Dark satisfaction swirled in his blue gaze, his smile possessive as he looked down at me. Then he was riding me hard, chasing his orgasm. “Watch as I come for you, baby.”

As if I could look away.

Never breaking our stare, he let out a roar. His muscles trembled and shook, and I could feel him pulsing inside me through the latex. “Blyat!” he ground out through clenched teeth. The cross tattoo on his neck rippled, as did the star on his shoulder.

He was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen.

Suddenly, these symbols on his body shifted in my brain—and inspiration struck. The ideas came to me instantly, so clearly that I could see every piece, every design for my next collection. Oh, mamma mia. Yes, yes, bello e brutto. Beautiful and ugly.

Panting, he slumped over, then slowly withdrew. Sweat rolled down his temples and I wanted to lick this gorgeous beast from head to toe. Affection and happiness mingled in the center of my chest, pulling tight. I could love him.

Still wearing the condom, he stood and held out his hand. “Up. I am going to wash you in the shower. Then we will watch an old movie and discuss our holiday plans before falling asleep.”

And I was the world’s most foolish man because I offered up not one single objection to that plan.

Chapter Six

NIKOLAI

The next day I decided it was time for another conversation with the assassin.

My men had discovered the identity of Theo’s friend, Giulio. A mafia prince? No wonder Sicilian assassins were trying to kill him.

But this made everything more complicated and dangerous for me. I needed answers.

I strode out of my office and went toward the stern. I turned the corner as Alessio went into the head. Giulio and Theo were on deck, laughing and drinking. Good. This would give me a moment alone with the assassin. I sat on the sofa opposite the door and waited.

When Alessio emerged, I asked in Russian, “A word?”

He didn’t appear surprised to see me. Did anything rattle him? Silently, he walked over and lowered himself into the chair opposite me.

“I did some digging,” I said.

“Did you?”

“Yes, and I was surprised at what I discovered. Alessandro Ricci.” I whistled. “I never would have guessed.”

No reaction. “And?”

“And I would like to know what you are doing on my yacht.”

He held up his palms, as if placating me. “It has nothing to do with you. I didn’t know you were here before I stepped on board.”

I wasn’t sure whether to believe him or not. “A coincidence. Is that it?”

“I did not choose to come to your yacht.”

“And Ravazzani? Does he know who I am?”

“He knows.”

I assumed, but the confirmation pissed me off. “I could kill you, yes? Put a bullet in your head and let the sharks have you.”

“And what would your solnyshko say about that?”

Motherfucker. I had shown too much around Theo. It was clear he was my weakness. My heart was thundering in my chest and I felt cornered—a sensation I hated. Dangerous, murderous things happened when I felt threatened.

As if he sensed my mood, Alessio spoke into the silence. “My only goal is to keep Giulio safe. I don’t care about your secret or your relationship with Theo. As soon as I discover who tried to kill Giulio in Scotland, I will leave to go kill them.”
