I gasp into his mouth and he hums contentedly. The vibrations of his voice make me shiver in the best of ways.

“Better?” he asks.

“Yes, but you just made me really hot and bothered,” I complain with a laugh.

Turner shrugs. “Oops,” he chuckles. “Get dressed before someone comes up to find you. We took too long in the shower.”

There’s a knock at the door and he raises his eyebrow at me. I shrug, okay with Turner opening the door since I’m in a towel.

“Come in,” he calls out instead and Orion pops his head in.

“Roark sent me up with an omelet for you. I haven’t seen Greg yet, so take your time and make sure you eat, okay?” I think that’s the closest Orion has come to really showing concern and I nod, dumbfounded.

“Yeah, I will,” I tell him.

He smiles and puts the plate on the nightstand before leaving.

“Thank you!” I call out after him and Orion raises his arm in acknowledgement.

“Well, now you get breakfast in bed,” Turner teases me.

“I need to dress,” I laugh before he can convince me to roll around in bed with him.

Slipping into panties, I drop the towel before putting a long-sleeved shirt on. I don’t really feel like a bra, honestly. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I eat my omelet, enjoying as Turner leans against the wall watching me.

“Are you planning on putting pants on today?” he asks.

I wrinkle my nose. “Are there soft yoga pants or sweats by chance? I don’t want to wear anything tight.”

Glancing at the pants he had dropped earlier on the bed, Turner nods. Digging through the bag of things Greg bought me, he pulls out soft gray sweats triumphantly.

“My hero,” I proclaim, taking another bite of my food. Roark is amazing in the kitchen, and I sigh appreciatively. “This is so good.”

“There’s soda bread downstairs too,” Turner grins. “I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt you to have a small piece.”

“You’re just trying to get me downstairs faster,” I pout, surprised when there’s just one bite left. Finishing, I get up, placing the plate on the nightstand to put on my pants.

Turner kisses my forehead, grabbing my plate. “Finish getting ready, I’ll come back if you take too long.”

Frowning, I nod, going to the bathroom to brush my teeth and then brush and braid my hair in two braids. It’s so long, it’ll be a pain to let it dry naturally right now.

My feet are still a little tender, so I pull on some fluffy socks before I walk out of the room. Moving down the stairs hurts a little on the wooden planks, but it’s bearable.

“Lennon, in the living room,” Turner calls out, and I follow his voice. I haven’t really seen enough of the house yet to know where everything is.

Inside the room, I find everyone except Miranda. I guess she’s not part of this conversation.

“Hey,” I say awkwardly as I step inside.

Greg rolls his eyes. “You’re not in trouble, you’ve just been out for a couple of days and there’s been some developments. The most important thing, do you want to see an extra crispy hospital building?”

“Fuck yes!” I fist pump, beelining for a spot on the couch excitedly.

Chuckling, Greg pulls something up on his computer, handing it to me. There’s several photos, and a video. Clicking each photo, my eyes widen in awe at each one. Gorgeous red flames reach for the sky, completely engulfing the hospital.

“It’s so pretty,” I whisper. “I feel like we’re purging evil as I look at these.”

“Next time I torch a place, I’ll have to take you with me, little fire bug,” Greg says in mild amusement. “Watch the video.”
