Biting my lip, I fill up my tank, and then head into the gas station to pee, my eyes scanning my surroundings. Only part of this is for appearances. I actually am nervous this will all go to shit.

The only thing that makes me a little better is the tracker embedded under my skin. How fucked is that?

I follow the signs for the bathroom, not actually knowing when Orion will grab me. Ironically enough, I actually have to pee now.

I quickly go in and use the restroom, shaking my head at how ridiculous my bladder is. Cleanup is still dicey with these damn stitches, but I manage. Wrinkling my nose at the bathroom, I flush and wash my hands before walking out.

“You really had to pee, little girl?” Is the only thing I hear before a gloved hand covers my mouth.

At first I struggle against him, but then I hear Orion chuckle in my ear and I sag in relief. So dumb, I’ve been waiting this entire time for him to pop out, and when he does, he still took me by surprise.

He shoves the back door open with his shoulder, holding me up high enough that my legs dangle. I kick at the air for good measure, but it doesn’t faze Orion in the least. There’s a black panel van waiting behind the gas station. It’s scary how quickly he picked me up.

Holding me tightly, he opens the back door, zip-ties my hands in front of me, and shoves me inside.

Rolling my eyes as he closes the door, I look around. I know I can get out of these, because Greg made me practice yesterday. I’ll never be a secret spy of any kind, but I can save my life and defend myself.

That’s good enough for me.

“Little girl,” Orion growls as he gets into the van and my eyes snap to him.

“Yeah?” I rasp, my voice sounding rough from the stress.

“I’m messaging my contacts now, and when we get there I’ll need to cover your eyes and drop you off. I need you to fucking fight whoever it is who is there, is that understood?” Orion’s gorgeous eyes are intense as he stares at me. “I know you can do this, but I don’t like it.”

“I’ll fight,” I whisper urgently, nodding. “I promise.”

Blowing out a breath, he nods, and the mask he wears so well slips over his features as he hands me a bandanna. At my confused look as I glance down at my hands, he grunts.

“Just hold onto it for now, I’ll put it on when we get closer for appearances,” he says.

I nod and take it from him, watching as he grabs his computer to message his contacts. Inputting an address into his phone, he puts the van into drive, and gets moving.

I zone out, taking measured breaths as we eat up the miles. My body knows what to do, I just hope I don’t freeze.

Though… yesterday, Orion grabbed me when I was walking down the hallway, and I managed to get out of the hold and elbowed him. He just managed to get out of the way before I head-butted him. Asshole.

Smirking, I hide my face by looking down. My hair is thrown up in a smooth ponytail, even though I wish I could have worn it in a bun. It’s an easy target for hair pulling, and not the fun kind.

This sex ban is getting real old. I want to replace my memories of sex with good ones, and I still have four more weeks before I can.

The van pulls off the road and I glance up. We’ve been driving for over an hour, I see on the dashboard from where I’m sitting cross legged on the floor.

“I have to blindfold you now,” Orion murmurs, turning to take it from my hands and ties it just tightly enough that I can’t see, but I can still push it off with my hands when I’ll need to.

Taking a shaky breath, I stretch my neck to release some tension and turn my wrists out of reflex. I’ve spent a lot of time restrained in a straightjacket, so it feels odd to have limited mobility again. The ties move a little, and I realize Orion didn’t tighten them all the way.

My heart flip flops at the thought. I know he’s playing a role, but this feels exceptionally sweet.

Before I know it, he pulls up to the drop off. Swallowing hard as I hear him open the door, I realize he doesn’t turn off the engine. I jump a little as the back door slides open.

“Here’s the girl as a gesture of good faith, you’ll receive the paperwork requested when you wire the money to me,” Orion says in a dead voice, grabbing my arm and pulling me out.

I pull my arm away, struggling, and he pushes me to the ground.

“That’ll be all,” a voice I recognize as the doctor I hate says. “Miss Lennon, it’s so good to see you again. We were missing our favorite patient.”

Dr. Bennett yanks me to my feet, already pulling me somewhere. I trip twice before he curses, taking off the blindfold. I’m in a huge, empty warehouse, my eyes bouncing around the space.
