Prescott grins evilly. “You’re too valuable to leave alone. They’re going to find you, fuck you, and then sell you so someone else can do the same. You’re a pretty, tight hole and a tool they can use. I wouldn’t get too comfortable.”

Yep… and I’m done. I turn my back on her, my boots clicking on the tile floor. My hand raises to knock on the door as Prescott throws a tantrum, pulling at where her wrists are anchored by the cuffs to the table. I don’t even have a chance to knock, before the door is opened.

I no longer hear thrashing, and start to turn.

“Lennon!” Greg yells, grabbing me and throwing me through the door before he hits the button on a taser.

I turn quickly, seeing Prescott running and jumping for me. Gasping, I watch in horror and awe as she’s caught by the prongs of Greg’s taser. She falls to the floor twitching and I sway as my chest heaves.

“Holy shit,” I whimper, watching her.

“I saw her fighting and pulling against the cuffs, and was worried she’d be able to bust through the table,” Greg grunts, staring at Prescott in disgust. “Can I arrange for special treatment for her with the boys?”

I nod, realizing he can’t see me. I know I’m sentencing her to a death sentence, but she’s smart. If she ever was released, Prescott Jones would burn the world down for her revenge.

My heart in my throat, I swallow around it before responding. “Yes, I’ll never be safe otherwise, Greg.”

A guard moves me to the side as he walks quickly into the room. He glances at Greg as he pulls his radio to request help.

“The table gave way, and the prisoner was no longer adequately restrained. She tried to hurt… my expert.” Greg explains, covering his almost slip up smoothly. No one can know I was ever here.

I pull my hood more securely over me as more guards join us.

Ten minutes later, Greg and I walk out of the facility.

“You did really well in there, kid,” he says softly as he gets into the car. “Are you doing okay? I heard everything.”

I nod, my hands shaking slightly. I fist them in my lap, thinking. “I’m good… she’s just really fucking damaged. Holy shit,” I gasp. “Um… I also didn’t know I had living grandparents, Greg.”

He turns on the car, arching his brow. “No? Huh… one more thing the infamous Carrie is hiding. Why am I not surprised?”

“That means I don’t know where in Connecticut she’d go, though,” I explain. “If they can’t get paperwork to leave the country under new identities, then they’re going into hiding. Fuck…”

Greg still understands, shrugging. “So I’ll do some digging. I’m sure I can find her, right?"

I nod, but something tells me it won’t be that simple. “What if she changed her name? I just don’t feel like we’ll get that lucky,” I complain, absently cracking a finger from stress.

Greg winces, but doesn’t comment. “If I can't find something, what is the option you’re considering that’s making you uncomfortable?”

“I may have to talk to my sperm donor,” I groan.

“Fuck,” he mutters, putting the car into drive. “I don’t like him, I haven’t met him yet, but still. I’ll come with you if we need to take that step, okay?”

I nod, my mind whirling with more questions than ever.

Greg texted us after Lennon and he left the maximum security facility to tell us he needed help with interrogation and extermination. I know they went to see Prescott, and I smirk when I see the text.

“Orion?” I murmur, leaning back on the couch where he’s working on the computer next to me. We’re working together to erase all traces of Lennon other than as a blur on the cameras, so it looks like they glitched.

“Uh-huh?” Orion grunts and I smirk.

“Want to have some fun with Prescott?” I tease him, my fingers twitching with excitement.

“Fuck yeah,” he breathes. “Especially after that bitch went after Lennon the way she did.”
