“I want you to let all of the wonderful, dark parts of you to float to the top. I know you suppress the thoughts of hurting people who deserve it… stop. Ask Derek what he thought of how your father spoke to you. I know, because I saw his eyes. I felt the same way. Today, the unreserved, unrestrained side of Lennon runs free. You’re going to learn new things, and be a good student, aren’t you, baby?” he purrs in my ear and I arch in his arms.

“I want to be the very best,” I breathe.

“Mmmm, you will be. Are you competitive at all?” he asks, and I grin.

“I am. It’s rare for me to care enough about something to need to be the best, but occasionally, yes,” I confess.

“The first one to make Elaine pass out, wins,” Orion states, dropping the gauntlet.

My eyes pop open, surprised.

“We’ll just throw freezing water over her and wake her ass up,” he chuckles. “We want to draw it out, but you get to kill her when the time comes. Deal?”

“Fuck yeah. I’m in,” I grin, and I’m sure it’s all teeth.

“Let’s go, then,” Orion prompts, nudging me forward with his hips. The kiss definitely had an effect on him.

Smiling, I’m practically skipping as we head in. One of the guards gives me an odd glance, and I rein it in a tad. I’ll be Dark Lennon, but slightly less happy about it.

As we walk through the halls behind the guard showing us to the room we’re in, Derek smirks at me. “Roark may blame me for turning you into a baby serial killer,” he teases and I snort.

“I feel like there’s a story there,” I tell him, batting my eyes so he’ll tell me.

“It was over a video call update,” Derek chuckles. “It’s still one of the funniest and truest things he’s ever said to me. He and Turner really didn’t care, outside of a lecture about being safe about it.”

And this doesn’t surprise me one bit.

“Alright,” the guard murmurs as he stops at the door. “Everything you asked for is on a cart just inside. The prisoner is restrained for you already as well. Is there anything you need before you go in?”

“I just need a couple of minutes alone with her first, is that alright?” Orion asks, lips pressed together as he waits for the guard to question him.

Greg must have told the facility to give us whatever we wanted, because the guard just shrugs and unlocks the door to let him in first.

I bounce on the balls of my feet, feeling the need to burn off some excess nervous energy. It’s an excited energy though, reminding me of when I’d have the zoomies from a sugar rush.

“Len,” Derek chuckles. “You’re absolutely adorable, you know that?”

I don’t know if he’ll still think that when Nurse Ratchet’s blood is running freely, but we’ll see.

I bare my teeth at him and he grabs me to kiss him hard.

Orion knocks his knuckles on the door, and the guard opens it for him.

“We’re all set, little girl. Come taste some vengeance, Lennon,” Orion grins.

I swear his smile matches mine at the moment. He holds his hand out to me to take, and as I place it in his, I notice how little blood is on him.

Walking inside of the room, I barely notice the door closing behind me. Elaine Tibbets hangs from chains from the ceiling so that all of her weight is holding her. Her legs, interesting enough, are loose, but she doesn’t kick out when she notices us.

No, Elaine is too busy screaming to bother with that.

Morbidly fascinated, I grab her face, pushing on her jaw so she’ll open her mouth. Tears stream down her face, but this doesn’t move me at all. I have very little sympathy for Elaine.

I expected her mouth to be more of a mess, and while there’s blood on the ground, and on her lips, that’s all.

“I cauterized her tongue fast enough that it didn’t bleed too badly,” Orion murmurs, covering my back with his body. His hands squeeze my hips just tightly enough that my eyes flutter closed for a moment.

I still have bruises on them from Roark and Turner, and the memories are delicious.
