“That’s a gift you return in a million ways, Aristos,” she murmured lazily, arching her neck a little more so that he could get to all her sensitive spots. He licked up a trail obligingly, leaving whispered pockets of heated endearments. Filthy jokes that made her laugh and crude promises that made her shiver.

She loved how vocal he got during sex, how he twisted her inside out with anticipation with just one look, how he could be across the room from her and still communicate how much he wanted her.

Passion like theirs, the explosive physical connection they shared, she knew, was rare. Because she’d tried to find it with someone else, tried to replicate it with men that dating apps matched her with. Sensible, practical men who were her perfect matches on paper, men who didn’t make her lose all common sense. To no success.

It was something to do with their chemistry, maybe even the genuine friendship they’d forged in those earlier years before it had fractured. They had this...a true communion of their bodies. It had to mean something. It had to.

It helped Mira forget the hollowness in her heart when she remembered it wasn’t love that he felt for her.

She grabbed his fingers and pulled them up until they rested beneath her breasts. A gruff grunt expunged into her skin was her reward, as was the way he cupped her breasts, and let those clever fingers weave mindless circles over her aching, taut nipples.

Mira pressed back against him wantonly, groaning at the feel of his erection nudging her back.

“Don’t tempt me,agapi mou,” he said, nipping at her skin, easily driving her to the edge.

This too had become a game between them—he called her his love, she argued vigorously, he nipped some part of her flesh, causing little pain and lot of pleasure as if he meant to bind him to her, and she let it stand.

She knew not to take it to heart, that it was his way of taunting her to provoke a reaction and still, every time he said it, her heart missed a beat. Clenched tight with hope fisted within.

“Why not?” she said, meeting his gaze in the mirror and pouting. “Your recovery has turned a new leaf and I’d like to reward you for all your hard work,” she said, stressing on the last two words.

He laughed against her skin, and it vibrated along her nerve endings, burrowing deep within her. “A reward? Am I allowed to pick?”

She giggled and he nipped her skin again. “As if it’s a big guess.” She wriggled her butt against the hard length.

He grunted, rocked his hips up into her and gruffly muttered, “Asking my very pregnant-with-twins wife to go down on her knees would make me a beast of a husband,ne? Not that you let that small temporary obstacle stop you from giving your everything. I knew all that steely strength of will would pay off in some way.”

Mira laughed, remembering the very illuminating and highly entertaining night she’d spent learning what and how to drive Aristos to the edge of his limit. “I’m sorry I didn’t see it through...all the way,” she said, laughing and groaning at the same time. “For leaving you with no recourse at the last second.”

His laughter joined hers and that was her true prize. “I did like painting your chest, Mira. Dirtying you up just a little bit.”

“Next time, I’ll be prepared.”

“Will you pen it into your planner, agapi?” he teased. Her eyes rolled back now as he snuck his fingers under the paneled bodice and pinched one taut bud just the way she liked. “I promised myself I’d be the very best husband to you, yineka mou.”

But even under the avalanche of pleasure he rained down upon her, Mira felt the uncertainty pinch her. “Competitive in this too, Aristos?”

“As long as I’m the only winner that rides this particular—”

She gasped in outrage—at least tried to. But it was impossible to hold a coherent thought together.

Breath panting, bodies moving in a feverish symphony, they humped like teenagers who couldn’t get enough of each other. Like they had the night of their engagement.

Until Aristos had backed off suddenly and said he wanted to do it differently. That he wanted it to be special.

Even the memory of a promise that had fallen apart spectacularly wasn’t enough to cool the heat racing through her veins. Solid and warm and so hard against her flesh, he was here now. And he’d chosen this future with her.

Tremors shot down to her lower belly, pooling into dampness between her thighs. He snuck his hand under the slit and cupped her core, all the while watching her with a languid heat. The other hand pushed the panel of her bodice aside until her breast was bared. Long fingers flicked at her nipple as his other hand busied itself tugging her flimsy panties away.

And then he was thrusting two fingers inside her, pressing his thumb pad to her clit in perfect harmony. Her climax hovered close but Mira wanted more tonight. She needed everything.

“No. Not fingers, Aristos. Not tonight.” She looked up into the mirror, grabbed his nape and kissed him. “Please, I need more...”

“Thee mou, you set me on fire, Mira.”

“That’s the idea,” she said, digging her teeth into his lower lip.

“Our guests will be here any minute, yineka mou.”
