“I’ll take that.” She snuggled into me. “What are we going to do? I don’t want to live with Danny, and you’re not going to want to move into my tiny apartment after living this lifestyle.”
“Hey, I’d live in your tiny apartment.”
She laughed. “You would not.”
“Okay, no, I don’t want to. But I’ll get us our own place.”
“Yeah?”
“Of course. Somewhere not too far from here, so I can still work with Danny on our apps, but a place that’s just ours. We’re going to need somewhere of our own to raise that baby.”
“And I want to stay in LA,” she said. “I’m going to try to find a writing job for another movie. Michael definitely won’t give us a good recommendation after everything that happened, but I still think I might be able to find something.”
“I’m sure you will,” I murmured. Her writing was good enough that it would rise to the top; I was confident about that. But right now, I don’t feel capable of even thinking about the future in that kind of detail.
I wrapped my arms around her and let my eyes fall closed, enjoying the knowledge that she had said yes.
She was mine, now and forever, and nothing could ever take her away from me again.

Lucas had been asleep in my arms, but he perked up at the sound of his uncle’s voice. His eyes opened, his head turned, and I couldn’t help smiling. “He likes you, Danny.”
