“Well, good news, the babies are healthy,” I said with a smile.
It was Anthony who picked up on my wording. “Babies? As in… more than one?”
I laughed because it was almost identical to what I had asked the doctor. I held up the sonogram pictures so they could see. “Twins! A boy and a girl! Better start thinking about names,” I said.
Everyone started talking at once, and I could barely make out what they were saying. I know heard bits and pieces of celebratory words though. Everyone was smiling. Everyone was happy.
And the group hug, well, it was phenomenal.
“I think we should name the girl Aurora,” Sean said.
“As in, Sleeping Beauty, go figure,” I laughed, kissing him. “Though I think it might be a bit close to Alice.”
“But you have to admit, if we keep having kids, we’re going to want them to have similar names,” Jason said.
“How many babies do y’all plan on us having?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.
“As many as we can,” Jason answered with a cheeky grin.
“Well for now let’s focus on the ones we have—Alice, and these two,” I said, patting my belly. “If we have twins again, each pregnancy is going to grow our family by a large amount.”
Jason kissed me. “Good thing there’s plenty of dads to go around.”
He was right about that.
Three babies. Seven dads. One mom and a best friend who was now living at the resort part-time. Rosie adored Alice and was helping me with her too. It was nice having another woman around.
