“Come on, Raven. I can feel you clenchin’ around me,” he moans. My toes curl as heat spirals inside of me. One of his hands leaves my hip and comes around to find my clit, where he circles, flicks it and makes me come hard. I clench around him, lights flashing behind my eyes as I feel him swell. He raises his hips a few times, getting deeper inside me before finally unleashing and filling me. My body jerks and jolts at the feel of him.

“Fuck,” he curses under his breath. His finger still circles my clit lazily as he pulses inside me.

“That was amazing,” I tell him.

“That was just the beginnin’ darlin’. I plan on bendin’ you over the bed later,” he tells me.

“And what else?” I whisper, needing to hear it.

“Fuckin’ you until you can’t breathe. Fuckin’ you until you scream my name. You want that?” As if he would give me the option.

“You know I want that,” I tell him. He leans forward and kisses my shoulder, sending a shudder through my body. At this moment, I wish things were different. I wish we were different people. Then maybe something could have come from all of this. Something good, special even. But it can’t, and deep down, I know that. I know this will all end, and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

I could forget my plan. I could leave it all behind me, but some part of me can’t do that. It doesn’t want to. It wants revenge, to end what started this mess to begin with.

“What are you thinkin’ about? You tensed up.”

“Everything. What’s going to happen when I leave.”

“You don’t have to go, Raven.” His fingers trail along my arm causing bumps to form.

“I wish I didn’t have to.”

“You don’t. Stay with me.”

“It’s not that easy, Cross. I wish it were,” I tell him truthfully. Once he knows what I’m going to do, he will hate me. He will never forgive me for it. And I can’t blame him. I wouldn’t forgive me either.

“It is that easy. Fuck it all, Raven. Let it all go and start over,” he argues.

“I wish I could. There are just some things I can’t let go of.”

“Then come back when you’re done,” he says, causing my chest to clench. There’s an ache inside of me that I can’t soothe.

“You would hate me after what I’m going to do, Cross. You will never forgive me,” I tell him. His arms wrap around me, pulling me into his hard body.

“I couldn’t hate you, Raven. It’s not possible.” Why doesn’t he listen? Why can’t he take me at my word?

“You could and you will. Can we just leave it at that?”

“Yeah. We can, for now,” he agrees.

“I mean it, Cross. I can’t tell you.”

“Then don’t tell me. But I’m still gonna be here for you if you need me. I’m still offerin’ help if you want it,” he says, breaking my heart a little more.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Now come on so I can feed you before I fuck you more.” I giggle and climb off his lap, adjusting my bottoms before climbing out of the warm water. I watch Cross pull his shorts up before he does the same. I grab two towels, and we both dry off before I follow him inside to the kitchen.

“What’s all this?” I ask when I see the lines of food on the counter.

“Demon ordered caterin’. He wanted us all to relax and not worry about anything.”

“This is insane,” I say with a smile as I take in all the food. I watch as Badger fills a plate for his little girl, and Evie also makes one for hers. My heart swells seeing them like this. I would give anything to have that. A family like they have. Kids. All of it.

“You okay?” Cross asks when he catches me staring at the kids. I quickly wipe the tear that fell down my cheek before nodding.

“I’m good.”
