“No. I’m not.” Raven seems to think about it for a long minute before the knife leaves Luke’s throat. I don’t know if I’m happy about that or not. I’m beyond pissed about what he did to her. I can’t stand to even look at him, but all I can think about is how this will affect Raven and my mom. Not that I give a shit about my mom. I don’t. She’s never been a part of my life, and that’s fine by me. Ignoring all that, I pull my cell out and call Drake.

“I need a van for transport,” I tell him. He doesn’t question me about why; he just asks for the address. I rattle it off to him and then end the call.

“You’re serious?” Raven asks.

“I’m dead serious. You’re mine, Raven.”

“And you’re okay with what I want to do?” I blow out a breath. Am I okay with it?

“I have to be, yeah?”

“No, you don’t. You can walk away,” she tells me, but that isn’t an option either.

“I can’t do that. I can’t walk away from you.”

“But I left you,” she reminds me.

“That was different. That’s over now. You’re not goin’ anywhere ever again, Raven. You hear me? This runnin’ shit ends here,” I tell her. She looks me in the eye, and I stare right back at her.

“You still want me?”

“I’ve never stopped wantin’ you, Raven. Don’t you get that?”

“Even after what I’m going to do?” I don’t have to think about that. I don’t need a minute because I already know the answer. Whatever this is between us runs deeper than blood. It runs deeper than family.

“Even after what you’re gonna do.” I see the tears in her eyes, and I know she’s never had someone care about her as I do. Raven’s never had someone give a shit about her and want her even with all her faults.

We stand in silence until I hear someone knock on the door. I raise my finger to my lips, telling her to be quiet while I check it out.

As I walk through the living room, it hits me that Raven used to live here. She used to live in this shit hole with my fucking half-brother, and I never knew it. I shake the thoughts away and check the door to see one of the prospects. I pull the door open and motion for him to come inside. He follows me back to the room where Raven stands behind Luke.

“We need him in the van and then the basement at the clubhouse,” I tell him. He nods and walks over, trying to untie Luke but Raven steps in between them.

“You think he won’t try to run?” she asks him. Ray, the prospect, looks to me for instruction. I walk over and punch Luke in the face as hard as I can, effectively knocking him out then I let Ray get to work. He’s not a small man, so I know he can handle carrying him out of here. Raven shifts from foot to foot, unsure about what’s happening around her.

Once Ray has Luke out of the room, I zone in on Raven. It’s like everything wrong is now right. She’s right here, and I can breathe again. I walk toward her, and she backs up until her back hits the wall. Raven tips her head to look up at me, and I take the chance to kiss her. I need to taste her. I need to feel her on my tongue. My hands grip her hips as my lips devour hers. This is what I’ve been missing. Her. This woman. This feeling. I shove my tongue into her mouth and take from her. I don’t care if she’s willing to give it up to me. I will take everything she has without permission. I need her.

“We should go,” she murmurs when I pull away. I nod and drop one last kiss on her lips before grabbing her hand in mine and tugging her along with me.

“I’ll have someone take care of the house later,” I tell her.

“What do you mean?”

“If there’s anything in here you want, you better grab it now,” I say. Raven shakes her head, not wanting anything to do with this shit. I drag her out the door to my bike, passing her the helmet. She pulls her hand from mine and slides it on her head before waiting for me to climb on. Once I’m on, she follows and wraps her arms around my waist. I needed this. I needed her. More than I thought I did.

I rev the bike and pull off, heading toward the clubhouse. I take the long way there, loving having her on the back of my bike. Loving how she’s touching me, how her fingers tighten and dig into my flesh when I take the turns a little faster than usual. I want to savor this moment. Savor this time with her.

When we finally pull up to the clubhouse, Demon and Drake stand outside smoking a cigarette, but I know they’re waiting on me. I kill the engine and club off the bike before helping Raven off. She pulls the helmet off and sets it on the seat as we walk toward the two of them.

“Nice to see you’re back,” Drake states, looking at her.

“He didn’t really give me a choice,” she says, but I see the smile on her face. She’s happy to be back here.

“I bet he didn’t. Someone wanna tell me why we have a man in the basement?” Demon asks.

“It’s personal,” Raven states.

“You’re not a member, Raven.”
