“What are we drinking for?” she asks in a breathy tone.

“Who the hell knows. You comin’?” I ask. She nods as I climb out of bed and grab my clothes. I throw them on and watch as she pulls on one of my t-shirts.

“That’s all you’re wearin’?” She glances down at herself and shrugs.

“Do I need more?”

“Pants would be nice.”

“I didn’t bring any.”

“Fuck, Raven. Any of them look your way, and I’m gonna lose my shit.”

“It’ll be fine.”

“Will it? Not when I’m beatin’ the shit outta one of my brothers. Put some boxers on,” I tell her. She giggles and walks to the dresser, pulling a pair out. I watch her slide them on and then tie up the side to keep them from falling off. You can’t see them with the t-shirt hanging so low, but at least I know they’re under there.

“Better?” she asks.

“Naked under me is better, but we need to see what they want,” I tell her with a grin.

“Are you sure you’re okay with all this?” she asks, and I know she’s talking about Luke. I nod my head.

“I’m good, darlin’. I’m good.”

Chapter Eighteen

Raven

I sit on Cross’s lap as the guys talk and drink. The girls have smiled at me and told me they’re glad I’m back, but there’s still something unstable inside me. Maybe it’s the fact that I didn’t kill him myself.

“Liam is MIA,” Demon informs us as the guys share a glance at each other. Cross’s hand tightens on my thigh before he takes a drag from his cigarette.

“What the hell does that mean?” Trek asks.

“We don’t know. We’re lookin’ at the assholes who shot Rafe. Thinkin’ they may be involved in this.”

“What if it’s Liam?” Cross asks.

“What do you mean?”

“What if he was tryin’ to cut us out with that little ambush?”

“Doesn’t really make sense. They said Liam owed them money,” Drake argues.

“That’s true. Just a thought,” Cross adds. Demon nods his head, but none of this makes sense to me. I turn my head and kiss Cross’s cheek before shoving out of his lap and heading for the girls. Cheryl is the first one to see me and pull me into a hug.

“I’m so glad you’re back. I thought Cross would keep you hostage for days,” she laughs.

“I wouldn’t mind that. I’m glad to be back too,” I laugh.

“We heard the rumors. Was it really your ex?” Cheryl asks as she passes me a shot and a beer. I nod and slam the shot before setting the glass back on the table.

“It was. Did you hear about how he was related to Cross?”

“Yeah, we heard that too. Cross doesn’t talk about his family. We never knew he had a half brother,” she adds.

“It’s a mess. I want to believe he isn’t going to hate me for this,” I admit.
