“Wait, I have a better idea,” I said, patting the bed behind me until I reached a pillow. “Here you go. Raise your head,” I said. I put the pillow under both of our heads. It was large enough and comfortable.

“Oh, this feels so good,” she said. “Do you think... Do you mind if we sleep like this?”

“No,” I said. “But I’m not really sure how much sleeping there will be.”

She laughed. “Mmm, I think you’re going to be out for the night.”

“You have a strange effect on my body. I wouldn’t put anything past you. That was amazing. Thank you for trusting me so much that you didn’t want anything between us.”

Her eyes were vulnerable. “I trust you with all I have, Spencer.”

I lifted my head, bending to kiss the tip of her nose. “The feeling is entirely mutual. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”

I kissed her softly, enjoying our entwined tongues and her delicious sighs. And I was getting semihard again. When she smiled against my lips, I knew she’d noticed. Penny grinned, and as we pulled apart, she pressed her hips against mine.

I groaned. “What are you doing?”

“I’m just checking to make sure that I wasn’t imagining it. Youaregetting hard.”

“Penny!”

“You were right. I don’t think we’re going to sleep tonight after all.”

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Penny

The next morning, Iwoke up to the smell of coffee. I blinked my eyes open. Spencer was sitting at the edge of the bed, sipping from a cup.

“What time is it?”

“Nine.”

“It’s so late. When are your grandparents coming? Let me just gather my wits.” I got out of bed, looking around for my clothes. “I’ll put them on really quick and do the walk of shame."

"What are you talking about?” Spencer said. He looked even more sleepy than I felt though he had gotten up before me.
