“Ander…are we…you said…what does that mean? Are you telling me…?”

I nod, “We’re going to be parents very soon, my love.”

“Oh my God! What about the baby?” She reaches for her shoulder, but I take her hand and bring it to my mouth.

“The doctor says there is nothing to worry about at all. He says nothing that happened will affect our little bundle.” My hand drops down to lie on her lower belly.

Tears come into her eyes as she places her hands over mine. “We’re going to have a baby.”

I nod even though she wasn’t necessarily looking for a response. “Yep. We sure are, princess.”

“Make love to me, Odin. I’m so happy, I think I might burst and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by showing one another how much we love one another.”

I take her mouth with mine. She pulls back for only a second. “Odin, what about the people looking for me? I…what about…?”

“That is already taken care of and you’ll never have to worry about any of that again.”

“You destroyed the ring, didn’t you?”

“They should have never tried to come for you, princess. There’s not a force on earth that could keep you from me. Not prison, our parents, or time. I will always burn a trail to you, always be here to keep you safe and happy, little one.”

“And I will always and have always been yours. Your wife, your lover, your best friend, your destiny. Always yours.”

And then we christened the hospital bed…and might have scared one or two nurses before we came up for air.

Six Months Later

I flutter from table to table making sure everything is perfect for the day. We have tables full of pies, cakes, and brownies. One of the girls is playfully reading palms and the guys are helping pop kettle corn as some of them help with the kids’ bouncy house. All the proceeds from this little fundraiser go to the children’s hospital.

Over the last couple of months, I have really found my groove in the club. I even went so far as to form the Daughters of Order. It’s an offshoot of all the old ladies of the Sons. We go around and help where we can. Sometimes we volunteer at the library, orphanage, and hospitals. Other times we do fundraisers to raise money for the people in the community. When one of the kids from the town was killed and didn’t have any insurance the Daughters came out and raised money - not just for the funeral expenses but for the family as well.

I find it very fulfilling. We’re even discussing a college fund for the high schoolers as well. Odin thinks I’m doing too much but I’ve never felt so good. I sit in the chair Dolly comes over with for me.

“Odin says if you don’t sit your backside down, he’s going to use it for other things that will leave you needing a nap.”

Both of us blush. Before I can say anything, she is giggling, “Don’t blame me. I’m just the messenger.”

I stand readying myself to go find my husband. Arms come up around me and pull me back into a hard body that I know so well. I lean against the strength I find there.

“Time for a break, princess.”

“But Odin…”

“No buts, baby. Unless you’re offering me yours.”

He sweeps me into his arms and walks us back to the inn we are staying at for the weekend while we throw this fair. He doesn’t sit me down until we are in our room with the door closed and locked.

“But the fair…”

“Can do without you for a little while. You’ve told the girls what they need to do, and everything is running as smooth as glass. You are nearly seven months pregnant and need to rest.”

“Is that all we’re going to do? Rest?”
