I grin at her as she yawns in bed beside me and stretches out. The covers slip below her naked breasts, and my eyes are immediately drawn to them.

“Enjoying the view?” she asks with a grin.

I pull the covers down to show her just how hard I am, and she licks her lips. “That looks like the perfect way to start the morning,” she says. Her hand runs across my stomach and down to my cock. When she wraps her fingers around me, I have a hard time not falling into the wonderful sensations running through me.

“Not this morning.” She frowns at my rejection. It’s the first time I’ve ever pushed her away. “Let’s take a long lunch to ‘discuss your trip’ instead. I need to talk to you about some plans I’ve made for tonight.”

She sighs and pulls her hand back. The frown doesn’t go away. “Yeah, I should talk to you about tonight, too. Something came up, and I need to do a thing.”

This time it’s my turn to be confused. Something came up? “What kind of a something?”

She lays back down on her back to stare up at the ceiling. “A book thing. There’s a certain author that I really like that’s doing a book signing this evening. I know I’ve got the thing with Tessa tomorrow, and then I’m going to be gone for three days, but I’ve been trying to get her to sign something for me for years.”

Oh. “Well, is there any reason I can’t go too? It’s not like my plans were important. I just wanted to make sure that I got to do something special with you tonight, and this would fit the bill.”

She rolls onto her side, a funny look on her face. “You want to come to a book signing? It’s just standing in line with a bunch of fans. I promise it will not be interesting to you at all.”

I lean down and give her a peck on the lips. When I pull away, I say, “You’re all the interesting I need.”

She blinks a few times and shrugs. “I don’t know how I feel about bringing a man to a romance author’s book signing. I might have to carry a taser to keep the other horny women away from you.”

I chuckle and roll out of bed. Madison’s eyes immediately go to my cock, which is still hard. “I promise I can fend off the masses of horny women. Though it might be sexy to watch you fight for me.”

“I’m sure you’d love that. Too bad I’d probably miss with the taser and hit you. I hear that a good shock can make you piss your pants, though. I’m sure that would keep the other women off you, so I might just do that from the beginning and skip all the rest.”

She’s always ready with a bit of sass. “Well, you just tell me when to be ready, and I’ll drive you to your little book signing.” I’ll get the last laugh on this one, though.

“It’s at six tonight, so if we can get there a little early, that’d be better. I don’t mind waiting in line, but the last two times I’ve tried to get Maya Hall to sign my books, I missed the cutoff.”

I nod, not able to control my expression enough to keep the grin completely away. This is going to be fun. “Okay. Then I’ll just take you there after work.”

She smiles at me and lays back on the bed. “Are you sure we don’t have time for a little morning delight? I fantasized about you doing dirty things to me all night long.”

Madison pulls the covers off and spreads her legs. She’s so wet. God, I’d never have let another woman risk making me late.

“Roll over,” I say, giving into my desires, and she grins at me for a half second before getting on her hands and knees.

Kneeling behind her, I line up, and as the tip slips between her soaking lips, she moans. This woman is addictive.

When I put my hands on her hips, her entire body quivers, and in a single thrust, I force through any resistance. She groans, and I just rest there for a moment. There is nothing in the world as wonderful as the feeling of being inside her. The silky heat that wraps around me and the desperate need that fills her.

She wants me in a way that no one else has in my entire life. Not for my money. Not for my prestige or fame. Not even because of the way I look. She wants me because we fit together.

Our bodies fit perfectly, but it’s everything else that makes it impossible to think about another woman. We understand each other. Her sass is what I love. Her smile is what I crave. The strength inside her is what makes her stand apart.

And I promise myself that I’ll make sure she remembers how much I care about her even while she’s traveling.

Chapter 39

Madison

“Oh my God, Em. We need to go!” It’s already five thirty. We should have left half an hour ago, and he’s still dawdling. If he hadn’t wanted to go, he should have just said that.

“One more thing. Real quick.” He types a few more lines as I glare at him. Then he slams his computer shut and puts it in his bag. “Alright. I’m ready to go.”

“About time,” I mutter as I head for the door. I’ve been ready for almost an hour. Maya Hall is one of the biggest romance authors right now, and she seems like the nicest person. I think I’ve reviewed every book she’s written, and they’re all so amazing.

Em stops suddenly as the elevator door opens and unties his shoe, only to retie it. By the time he’s done, the door has already closed. “Oh my God. If you stall even one more time, I’m going to light you on fire. I promise, Emery Brooks, if I miss this signing because of you, I will not let you live it down.”
