God, she looks fucking hot wearing my shirt. I wasn’t joking when I said she gave me a fetish. It’s enormous on her, going almost all the way to her knees, but there’s something about knowing she’s wearing my clothes that turns me on.

She crosses her arms and says, “I’ve been fantasizing about wearing your shirts for so long that I had assumed that’s what I’d walk around in all the time if I lived with you.”

“So, what’s the problem?” I feel very dumb right now.

“Well, you said occasionally, and I think I’d go crazy if I had access to your closet every day and didn’t get to just put one on any time I wanted.”

“You little shit,” I mutter and cross the room to wrap my arms around Addison. “So, you’re moving in?” I whisper.

She gives me a peck on the lips and grins. “Of course. I don’t want to be away from you any more than I have to. If you’re moving back into your old place, I want to go too. Plus, I’m pretty desperate to redecorate your fancy house in thrift store mugs. I bet your family would die of shock if I did that.”

I feel my jaw tense ever so slightly at the thought of my family. Namely, my father. He’s been back in town for a week, and I haven’t heard a word from him. I’ll see him Monday, though, and I’ll have to tell him that Addison is moving in with me.

The fight is going to be intense, but it’s worth it. Hell, anything’s worth it to keep Addison in my life.

“You can decorate my house however you like because that’s what a man does for a woman he loves.”

Her head moves so fast I have a hard time not worrying about her getting whiplash. “Did you mean to say that?” she whispers.

“That I love you? Absolutely. That you can decorate my house however you want? I’m kind of rethinking that already.”

In the movies, there’s always this pause when someone says those magic words to their partner for the first time. I guess Addison doesn’t understand the way these things are supposed to work because she instantly retaliates.

“Well, that’s stupid,” she says with a nearly straight face.

“You think me loving you is stupid?”

She shakes her head and rolls her eyes. “No Phillip. I’ve been hoping you’d say that for at least a week now. Ever since the game of charades. I meant letting me decorate your house. That’s obviously a terrible idea.”

“What about charades made you want me to tell you I love you? Seems like an odd time to realize your undying love.”

She gives me a sideways grin. “Watching you act out that scene from Dirty Dancing made me realize how truly wonderful you are. And how much I love you, too.”

I don’t get it, but maybe I shouldn’t try to understand. This may be one of those traps women lay for men’s brains where their explanations only make things more confusing. On second thought, I’m sure that I should not ask for an explanation.

“Well, as long as you love me, I guess it doesn’t matter what made you come to the conclusion.”

She gives me a wink and pulls away. “Now that everything’s settled, you get to help me get boxes so I can start packing my things.”

I can’t stop thinking about her moving in with me. Or about what that means. When I moved in with Addison, I didn’t plan on this. I didn’t plan on anything that’s happened, and I definitely didn’t plan to fall in love with her.

Looking back, though, it would have been impossible to keep my distance. She’s been a shining light in a world of darkness, and I can’t just walk away at the end of the month.

Now I know that there’s no way in hell that I’ll let anything take her away from me. Not Loughton House. Not even my father.

Thirty-Eight

ADDISON

“He’s backin his office today? Holy shit. You’ve gotta find a reason to spend the afternoon under his desk like a filthy little whore. That’s the dream, right?”

I can’t believe Trish actually said that, and I’m pretty sure my expression tells her exactly how I feel about it.

“What? I’d wear a tiny little skirt without panties if my guy was the Director. And I definitely would be suck… Oh, hey boss.”

James Pritchard frowns as he walks into the break room. “Kind of late to be chatting over coffee, don’t you think?”

We nod to him, and as we walk past him, he says, “Addison, Phillip Loughton wants to talk to you in his office. Do you know where it is?”
