I remember this kind of kiss. The way it makes my body feel like it could float away, but he won’t let me. Every fiber of my being isalivewith it.

When he finally pulls away, I’m breathless, but Phillip seems more focused than I’ve ever seen him. “I love you, Addison. I will always love you.”

“I never stopped loving you,” I whisper back and know that it’s the truth. There hasn’t been a single day in a month that I haven’t wished he was with me. I may have been following my dreams, but they don’t mean anything without him beside me.

I smile up at him and say, “I’m publishing the book. You were right about that, Phillip. You were right about a lot of things, and I was just afraid.”

“You don’t ever have to be afraid,” he whispers as his fingers brush against my cheek. “I won’t let anything bad happen to you. Together, nothing can hurt either of us.”

My arms wrap around his waist, and I press my cheek to his shoulder. “I didn’t like being away from you.”

“I hated it. Let’s not do that again,” he whispers in my ear, and I sigh. It’s like coming home after being gone for a month. How did I ever walk away from him before?

“Never.”

“You know, I think it’s time you started working on another book. Maybe one set on a beach somewhere?”

I look up at him. “Why?”

“Because you’ll need inspiration, and I think we both need a good reason to spend a month together, and playing on a beach together sounds like a dream come true.”

A chuckle escapes my lips. He’s always been the best at making me laugh. “Only if we go to all the tourist traps so I can find a new mug.”

“Your wish is my command, my lady.”

I can see the sparkle in his eyes, the life that had faded so much by the time we had that fight. It’s how I know that this is what he truly wants. If he looked as weary as he did running Loughton House by himself, I wouldn’t feel like I do.

He’s as alive as he was when he rescued me from a torture room, as happy as he was when he was sleeping on my couch in a pair of too-tight athletic shorts.

I didn’t know how to live with Phillip before. I was nervous about living in his house, about trying to be part of his billionaire lifestyle. But I’m not nervous now. I’m not afraid of walking that path with him.

Because it doesn’t matter what kind of life we have. As long as I have the man I love, and he has me, then nothing the world throws at us will be too much.

Like he said, as long as I have him, my world is complete. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

And I’m going to enjoy every taste.

“You owe me a raincheck,” I whisper, my breath teasing his neck.

He frowns, not remembering what I’m talking about, and the corner of my lip curls up. “You promised me a very special lunch date, and I’m taking you up on it right now.”

ADDISON

I didn’t thinkthat publishing a book would be so much work. Or involve so much travel.

Sweet Temptationshas dominated the charts for the past two weeks, and I’ve spent every one of those days on a plane going somewhere to talk about it. Finally, two weeks after release, I get to come home.

The limo pulls away from the four thousand square feet in the heart of Manhattan, and I can’t help but think that it all still feels so unreal. A year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined living somewhere like this. The most I’d hoped for was an apartment that fit my books and mug collection. Maybe a few feet of closet space.

Now… Well, now things are different.

I slide the key in the door, and when I walk into the foyer, Phillip is already there. In an apron, and only an apron.

He winks at me. “I made your favorite,” he says.

“I don’t know what that is,” I say, confused.
